Nice stuff. Did you notice that the RTH in #13 is banded! I was at Braddock Bay last week for the RTH Watch and saw a bunch of RTH banded at their banding station. Cool stuff!
The RTH with the band was one that we followed from pole to pole. Interesting, neither MAK nor I spotted the band when we were watching. I don't have any pics cuz I was the crazy lady stopping suddenly on the side of the road. The minute those red-tails see my lens...they take off. MAK is more subtle...she blends in with the passenger window, or through the sunroof. The RTH was an adult, so I wonder if this was one of Braddock Bay bandings from a previous year?

Here is the latest from "Elimac" aka Liz:"Just got this from Glenn: Hi All, Well, after a number of not so great weeks, Cheyenne has made a turn for the better. Turns out he just needed a little contrarian logic. Traditionally, injured birds need a place that’s relatively quiet and dark to get better. They stress out easily – especially high strung species like falcons – and, just like in people, excess stress can hinder the healing process. Turns out Cheyenne is a real sun worshipper. We went the other direction and moved him to a more well lit enclosure where he could see the sunshine and the sky everyday and he has been really perking up ever since. We have a couple of really big birds in the big flight cages that are due for release soon and hope to get Cheyenne moved over so he can get more exercise. It’s one of the real frustrations of working with patients who can’t talk. Sometimes you have to feel your way around a little bit to figure out what’s really bothering them. Cheers, Glenn. I replied it was because Cheyenne used to spend so much time sitting on top of the light post above the nest cubby." CMNH topic here.

I just read the news on CMNH that Carly posted...figured it was posted here as well. S2 and Pa were watched around the world the year she took over as the female. Pa became Super-Pa and his attentiveness to those two eyases Faith and Hope was phenominal. Many of us saw S2 come into her own. One thing that Donna left out of her story, is that it was Mother's Day when S2 bonded with the two eyases. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTgx42H80IA#She was a good mother and a good teacher. If she can't be returned to the wild, I bet she would make an excellent captive foster mom. It makes me so mad to hear this. It is hard to take when nature takes it course with peregrines that we follow online such as Hillary and little Pilate in Ohio, but this is totally senseless! And now Pa is alone again...

Kathy O tweeted 2 reports 25 minutes ago, but they haven't shown up here:
1. pefafollower - At KP . . Pefa has been on ibeam above scrape . . Flew out of sight to east
2. pefafollower - Second pefa on east stack lower cat walk
If she would use the a recognized keyword like, um, I don't know, maybe "falcon," "Archer," or "Unity" in her tweets, they would show up on the forum. And that's tweeted from Alaska!! Shaky - I thought "pefa" was one of keywords? Donna - Have you seen Shaky's close up of the eagle on Twitter (not forum topic)? He's definitely in Alaska.

I am planning on driving to Buffalo/Niagara Falls on Saturday to take Ei to see the falcons in the area. We'll make the rounds to as many sites as we can. The juvies are spreading out and not easy to spot them near their nesting areas. Hopefully we'll get to see some play, talon tagging or at least a food exchange with the Central Terminal juvies.
Everyone knows I am not a morning person...but I plan to be up early to head to Buffalo. Place your bets ladies and gentlemen, I want to be on the road by 8:00am. If anyone would like to join us, please let me know. There's room for two more.
Someone mentioned getting together for dinner Saturday evening. If plans are being formulated, I'll flex with getting back to Rochester to meet-up.

Ei,
I think I have to be at work in Buffalo on Friday... but maybe I can work from home. What time is the trip planned for Wild Wings?
Saturday is the Airshow in Rochester, and I don't know what's goin on for a get together, but I'm flexible. I'd be glad to have you acompany me to Buffalo for a watch, if you want to go.
Hey, do you have your enhanced license or a passport? Do you want to go see Harlie and RM&T in person? I know it's a lot of on the road for you, but if you want, here's an opportunity to see them in person.
At your service... Joyce

Borrow a camera?????
One time they borrowed one of our camera's to confirm eggs in the nest, but it was the same week some of the watchers were granted a visit to KP anyway...and Lou posted the album for that. Now we can see a falcon sitting in the scrape, and before we couldn't see one when it was farther back. Carol mentioned a 3rd clutch? I never thought of that. Boy this is all new to me. If there is a hatch, these babies will be picking off colored leaves from the trees.

OMG I am ROLMAO. "Quest is one tough parent, and certainly a demanding sot! .... WOW, is she keeping him on his toes!!! Oh my goodness!! Is she a nag!!!"
Mark Nash has such a talent to make people laugh when he's talking or writing. I would love to have seen this report if were written by a woman (LOL).
I do remember watchers saying that Mariah in her first years with Kaver trained him very well. Yes I agree....Quest is her mother's daughter!
