Today's messages came to my phone saying from TWITTER not 40404. Has something changed or are they coming to me differently?
Joyce
Did you add Twitter to your phone's address book? Yep that was it...Gee you're good!

Joyce look under Rochester falcon discussion at pics from MAK morning watch 10-22-10. Donna posted them for me. The snowman is with them.
I can't quite find it on google either. Any idea the cross streets, MAK? It's the building on the corner of Lawn and Chestnut. It has a famous fire escape on its south side. The picture was taken from a position east of the building looking west. Beauty is on the northeast corner of the building. If you do a Google street view of the corner of Lawn and Broadway and look west, you will see the light building with the arched windows in the foreground. "Walk" west on Lawn, and look up. The northeast corner of Beauty's building will come into view. Thanks Shaky. I googled Lawn and Broadway (one block east) and from there I can see the the building in Mak's picture with the arched windows. Behind it is the one Beauty was sitting on. (Pic 1 below) The Blackfriar's Theatre is the brick building on the right side of Lawn St.
Pic 2 shows the building closer up. It's the Downtown Fittness Center and their website refers to it as the DFC. I believe Lisa Mck is a member. Mystery solved!

...I looked at the corner of that building she was on the other day and there she was in full hunting mode. I watched for about a minute as there were pigeons flying all over the place. It was late and I had to go but as I was driving down Broad St. I saw her stoop off that building behind Midtown. Traffic was backed up at Clinton Ave. and so I contorted myself to look out my passenger side window to see Beauty lumbering across the sky with a pigeon in her talons!
Mak - I'm trying to figure out what building you are referring to. See Pic from Google Maps. The angle distorts the size in relation to Midtown, but is this the one you are talking about?

I saw this on my home page too. I understand both sides, but people forget humans can think and rationalize, birds operate by instinct. I'm so glad there are government sanctions in place. Good heavens...if they had paid attention 5 years ago, they would have everything in place now with less hassle and probably at less cost. I really have a hard time with attitudes like that!

This was too long to Twitter. From Dana at 1:00 pm. "Please pass the word. I just spent my lunch hour with I believe an unbanded juvie male Peregrine who had caught lunch at Irondequoit Mall and ate his meal on a pole in front of Appleby's on East Ridge Rd. Yeah!" Oh dear, I tweeted both messages I got on my phone, not realizing they were connected. So I removed them from here. I wonder if this is one of the two who were flying downtown the other evening.

Hi everyone!
Thank you for all the thoughtful wishes on my birthday. I had to work all day, but the best part was getting together with my falcon watching buddies before the day ended. There's nothing like a falcon fix on your birthday.
And thanks to those who left me text messages and facebook greetings too.

Good Job, Ladies! You Ladies did a fine job and I am so happy you found Quest! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! We are glad that we had something to share with all of you . . . and, thankful for the ground work laid by Carol P, Kathy O, Carrie, Shaky and the transmitter readings. We saw the metal ladder where Carol P got a pic of the male, but neither falcon landed there. We now have some favorite spots to share, so when the next group goes up to see Quest, they will know where to look as well.
It's been a real effort on everyone's part, but I think we have to thank Quest (the most) for finally settling down in one spot long enough!!
I've been bombarded with work and meetings for the past 2 days. I am still sifting through my pics, so I haven't been able to pull an album together yet. Because of the drab gray skies, the quality of the pictures is not the best, and they have to be edited.
I sent Jess a couple more photos to add to the Imprints post -- Quest on the communication tower, and Quest flying overhead when she came out to greet her fans.

Hi All! We didn't want to keep you in suspense, so here is a celebration poem by MAK and a photo of Quest who hasn't been seen like this in over two years. There once was a falcon born from the best, Who wore a transmitter attached to a vest.
After a few weeks, they named her Quest; She went to Cape Cod, then headed Northwest.
If you think I am kidding or acting in jest, Just ask her followers, they'll tell you the rest. Joyce and MAK

Thanks so much. Thanks goodness for the computer. At least this way no uncontrolled multiple text messages from my phone. (LOL) We're off for lunch and be back later. Lots of nice people in Pickering. All security we talked to were very friendly. Even an Ontario Policeman stopped by on his routine patrol through the country. (Mak says hmmmm good lookin'!)
