Tessa, who's fourteen years old this year

Five-year young Quest, barely past his puppy stage!

LG...

It's about time you posted photos of Tessa and Quest!  Tessa is such a beauty and Quest is as handsome as ever...and probably helps keep Tessa looking and feeling like a puppy herself!   clap

You can tell that Hammie and Archer are related.   2funny

So true...so true!    hysterical

I think that's the first time either of them have actually investigated the cameras...ya think Freedom told Archer that there were "peeping toms" everywhere when he was growing up and he's wondering if it's true?   whistle

I think I agree with Joyce, it's a merlin.  At first I thought it was a coop because of the tail but looking at the coloring, etc.  I'm gonna go with a merlin.

Hi!

Well...Karma and "applaud/boo" go hand in hand.  If you like someone's post well enough to (what else?) applaud it - or have a good laugh, etc. - you just click on the applaud link and that person will get a Karma point!

I haven't seen it done yet, but I'd bet that the "boo" link takes a Karma point away.

In other words, it's a way for one person to tell another "good job!"

Hope this helps!

Here’s an update on the Kodak Tower renovation from today’s D&C.

NOTE:  Be sure to check out the “360-degree view from the Kodak Tower” on the page. You can control the camera –left, right, up, down and even zoom in/out.

That 360-degree view is so cool!  Brought back memories from last year's Watcher's weekend...I could see my hotel from up there and everything!  Thanks for posting this!    2thumbsup

No, the widlife survey cam is not a Webcam. I wish it were. I must collect the CF card and transmit the images to the biologists if there is something of interest. It's a motion-activated camera. Sometimes we get nothing but birds, coyotes, foxes and deer. What they are looking for is mountain lions.

grace

Oh...forgot to ask...is this for migratory/territory studies?  I know there are a couple of these going on at the Mexican border for jaguars, desert bighorns, and peninsular pronghorns.  I didn't know there were studies going on for mountain lions.

re: mountain lion

Judi....camera is in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, 10 miles West of Borrego Springs, CA @ about 3500' elevation .

This is really great!  And good info for me to pass along to the mammal curators at the zoo.  They'll be very interested in this, if they don't already know about it.

Hmmm. My first attempt last night to post a diamondback rattlesnake was obviously a failure. So here's another....not a Webcam, but a cam I monitor for a university wildlife center--to trap and collar mountain lions in our area to study their behavior. I like this photo taken mid July because it is a clear image of the mountain lion's rear foot...look how big it is, and look how large the heel pad is compared to the toe pads...that's no canine foot!

Whoa, Grace!  That's one big cat!  Where are you monitoring these guys?  Inquiring minds need to know!

Happy Birthday, Nora (in Iowa).  Here's the Birthday card posted for you on KFalconCam:

P.S.  Add Shaky, Joyce, and Susan C to the MODS list on the bottom of the card too!

Also, on the main page, if a board has a blue falcon button to the left of it, it means it has unread topics. Clicking on the blue button will bring up a list of those topics.

A gray falcon button means you're read all the topics on that board.

And here I thought they were just for show!  See?  Even I learned something new today!    2thumbsup
