OK, I'm still in denial.   harhar

Me too, Donna...I was rootin' for the Vikes all the way...very bummed about that one...

You guys are just now getting all the storms we had in CA last week!  Lots of the white stuff in all of the mountains...the closest to me - Big Bear - had 7 FEET OF SNOW!  There was so much snow on the way to and in Mammoth that you couldn't get there!  LOL...

Excellent article and amazing videos!

Now, um, if only the state of Utah would pass a no lead center-shot ammunition law, the birds that venture into Utah would be a whole lot safer...

Paul, I just loved watching both this terrific bird and the genuinely wonderful video documenting your time with her. The closeups of Tex apparently trying to get a fix on what you (her "family" of the moment) were up to were great. That is exactly how they attend to each other's movements when they hunt in a group. It was funny for me to see a Harris' in the snow, as the only ones I've ever seen were in the desert - but she sure didn't seem to mind! Thanks so much for sharing this.

ditto to what Dale says!  Tex sure did look like she was having a lot of fun following along.  And Boy!  Was it snowing by the time you finished!

Thanks so much for sharing!

I have 2 pair of Western scrub jays that visit my feeders regularly.  They're kind of like "bulls in a china shop" when they swoop in and they sometimes can't figure out why all the LBB's get startled when they do that.  But they're fun to watch.  I hope these Eastern cousins do okay...

Anne,

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing but I'm also glad to know that you were able to be with him at the end, something I wasn't able to do when my dad passed 5 years ago.  He'll always be in your heart and memories.
