Starting tonight at midnight!
Let's stay up late and make our donations right after midnight. It doesn't matter how big a donation it is. Whatever you can afford is always appreciated. In fact, you might want to continue to make a series of $1 donations throughout the day tomorrow so you'll have a chance on the odd hours to win the opportunity to have $500 donated to your favorite non-profit. I believe the link is https://www.roctheday.org/event/rfalconcam -- no confirmation yet. Stay tuned to this topic for more information. ETA: link confirmed.

Lisa McK has verified that the ROC The Day bonus rewards will be the same as last year's. Every odd hour they will draw a ROCstar's name and give $500 to the charity of their choice. Every even hour the Rochester Community Foundation will give $1000 to the organization that had the most donors in the previous 2-hour time period.
Donate between midnight and 1 AM just like last year. The first $500 bonus drawing will be at 1 AM for the hour preceding it.
The first $1000 bonus will be at 2 AM. There's no need to stay up until 2 if you've already donated before 1 AM.
So stay up until midnight, donate, and go to bed!

If everything goes well, the female will build a nest high in a tree, anywhere from 40 ft to 100 ft in the air, where she will lay her eggs. She will incubate the eggs, and raise the chicks, entirely on her own. Meanwhile, the male remains at his bower and attempts to attract the next female . . .
What the!! Typical pretty boy -- so shallow with his showy trinkets. Ladies, stick with the guy who brings you breakfast, lunch, and dinner and isn't afraid to get his big yellow feet dirty digging in the gravel.

A visitor to the bower. This bird looks fairly small to be a female; females and juvies have the same coloring, soft shades of olive green. The males do not have their full adult plumage until they are at least seven years old. They collect items to decorate their bower, the favorite color being blue. They like objects such as straws, bottle caps, clothespins, feathers and berries. The site owner, Ken, provides the male with a number of blue objects with which to adorn his bower. Kaver was fond of blue too.
