It looks like you caught a rare DC-10 or MD-11 coming in for a landing in Rochester. The only one I ever see here is the FedEx jet, but that arrives in the morning.

So...the Perseid meteor shower is supposed to peak tonight after midnight. According to timeanddate.com the best angle will be between 37º and 44º north-east gradually rising in the sky from 29.4º to 67º altitude.

I don't think cam 1 will go high enough without running into the housing after a while, but probably worth a shot at pointing cam 1 that way tonight.

Based on this google earth image I would guess just about over the Radisson would be about right.



Hopefully the cloud cover will cooperate!

Maximum elevation of the camera at full zoom is 30 degrees. When zoomed out, the housing obscures the top part of the frame.

Other problems to deal with will be the poor low-light capability of the camera (noise, focus, low frame rate) and the flare from city lights washing out the picture.
