It's time for routine fall maintenance of the cameras at the Times Square building. This will take place this afternoon starting at about 1:30. The cameras will be turned off for a few hours while they are cleaned and adjusted.

This was an interesting statement -
 "DDT was banned in the Northern Hemisphere and regulated worldwide in the 1970s, but some places in the Southern Hemisphere still use the insecticide."
I wonder where those places are?

Google is a wonderful tool.

DDT is legally used in parts of South America, Asia, and Africa to combat malaria.

This should no surprise for a country with the 5th highest unemployment rate and 6th highest alcohol consumption rate in the world.

A heads up. Greentopia is scheduled for this weekend. We can get together to celebrate the end of the season and enjoy the festival at the same time. Activities include a fire juggling performance and a gorge light show featuring selfies tweeted to @Greentopiafest throughout the day.

Congrats! 

Four years ago, they wanted to "rewater" downtown by tearing off the deck of the Broad St. Bridge and closing Broad St. from Stone St. to West Main St. so it could be turned into a pedestrian-friendly waterfront concourse with fountains and pools. That would have closed off the tunnel too.
