When you think of New York's most exciting places, New York City probably tops that list. Now, a new survey says Finger Lakes college town Ithaca is the hottest spot in the state! Rochester also made the list, beating out Buffalo and Syracuse with the number seven spot.
Real estate company Movoto ranked the state's cities by their population, nightlife, theatres, parks and recreational spots and the average age of residents.
New York City came in at number two.

Ithaca beats NYC? The survey must have been biased heavily toward low population, young age, and the number of places that serve fast food and cheap drinks.

Had a scary moment around 6am when a juvie flew in trying to knock B off cam 1, it ended up down in the well but came up and flew off thankfully.

It could be Merc based on size and hint of yellow in feet.

Here's the whole thing from start to finish.

We do what we can, Shaky...we do what we can

I have no complaints with those who take an active part in the fledge watch. The handful using Ustream's Social Stream are making a difference. It's the other 90% on Ustream who watch and can't be bothered to contribute that I have a problem with. Apparently watching an injured 7-week-old bird is just another form of entertainment to them, and typing a response would interrupt the shoveling of popcorn into their hungry mouths.

Next weekend will be here before we know it! We have 13 people listed so far on Facebook as coming. Anyone from here coming who's not on FB?

I'll be bringing my usual paper goods...plates...plastic ware...cups...napkins...

Please reply here if you're planning to bring something.

I'll also print up some info on the Corn Hill festival... http://cornhillartsfestival.com/

Anything else going on that weekend? I know we usually just wind up hanging downtown anyway, but some people like options Wink

Are there picnic benches in front of the Library again this year? That worked out nicely as a starting home base last year.

OK...that's all I can think of for now...can't wait to see everyone!

I think there is supposed to be some sort of official contribution to the effort by GVAS this year, whether that will be in the form of food, beverage, shelter, etc. Maybe someone else who knows more could chime in.
