The results are in!
Winning male name: Maverick with 13 votes. Winning female name: Rosetta with 25 votes. Winning gender-neutral name: Mercury with 22 votes.
What does this mean?
One of the three eyases will be given the winning name from either the appropriate gender-specific poll or the gender-neutral poll, whichever received the most votes.
If the eyas is male, he will be given the name Mercury because it received more votes than Maverick.
If the eyas is female, she will be given the name Rosetta because it received more votes than Mercury.
The eyas and its two siblings will be named when they are banded.
Although Maverick will not be used this year, it is still a great name for a falcon, and we'd like to thank both Heather Cornish of New Hartford, NY and LaRock of Henrietta, NY for submitting it.
The names of the people who submitted Mercury and Rosetta will be announced at banding.

The numbers are really close right now. One or two votes could make a difference. Every vote will count. So to give everyone a chance to vote, the voting period is being extended an extra day. The polls close at 10 am (EDT) on Friday, June 14, 2013.
