I thought I saw DC fly off with the prey on the archives.

Bonnie, did you see him on the Live cam or the stills? My Ustream was frozen just at that moment when he took it. Couldn't find any pics in the stills.

At the 16:25 mark on cam 1, I see a Falcon flying just above the porch area. Could be him?  I remember Beauty would cache food last year by the main cam, in case Orion needed something during the night.  Maybe she wanted a quick snack in case she was trapped by DC and couldn't get any food and foolishly thought he wouldn't see it?  I don't think DC is in the food gift stage yet. My opinion...

Maybe B brought it for him but he just wouldn't come down to get it until she left, then he snatched it! Peace offering? Jeez, who knows!

I agree that it was some kind of offering. He was already perched above her when she brought the prey to the platform, and she was e-chupping the entire time until she finished caching it. It seemed like she was trying to grab his attention.

Beauty must be soooo tired! I was interested in someone's impressions that DC was doing all this to try to get her out of the NB... makes sense. I hope she has the strength to hold her ground. Is there any sign of UT at the moment? I may have missed the post re him. He and Beauty seemed ok with each other... Do you think DC drove him away?

I do...he is a jerk. Hope he miscalculates and almost hits something. Not to injure himself but to make him think twice about his behavior. 

Whatever he does, it is based on animal instinct. He is not capable of being a jerk.

Sorry Shakey it wasnt  my intention to invoke a riot, more a thought for them that are ultimately in charge. Surely a thought cant be a bad thing?

I agree that a nest box for Pigott would be nice, and in fact it has already been suggested, but it's not an option for this location. Any attempt to contact the owners independently would not be welcome, and could negatively impact our ability to monitor the falcons.

I suppose Im preaching to the choir, but has anyone suggested that a 2nd nest box for Miss Piggott, might solve alot of this?

Biggest problem is it's on private property & the owners are unwilling/unable to do anything from what I gather. I think there are some safety concerns about accessing the building too.

And everyone here is smart enough not to go looking for the building owners and start harassing them, right? That would be a real bonehead move.
