Nothing much happened in the Rochester area. Some trees down and some power outages, mostly near the lake shore. Downtown and the nest box are in fine shape.

So how did the name Diamante get chosen?  

He was named by Ms. Dawson’s Class, School 28, in Rochester, NY.

From the Banding Day 2008 entry on Imprints:

"For the fiirst time in three years, we have a boy! Our second eyas is named Diamante. Diamante was named by Ms Dawson’s Class at Rochester City Humboldt Elementary School (#28). Diamante is the spanish word for a diamond. A diamond is the hardest substance on earth, just as the Peregrine is the fastest bird on earth. The students in Ms. Dawson’s class are bilingual so they found it fitting to use a Spanish name for their choice.

"Diamante will have a RED tape band over his USFWS band, and his ID band is black/green 21 over R."

Diamante is such a beautiful bird, so white and sleek, he never seems ruffled like Gleig!  A very elegant bird.

Great job you all did with the clean-up on the camera lens's! New perch on top of cam 4, Beauty and DC will like that. What else did you do? What happened to Glowz? Poor Spidey!

We checked the cables and replaced some tape. Glowz had already moved out.

We're going up to clean the cameras and replace the plywood above Camera 4. The cameras will be turned off during this time.

Shaky, can we remove some smileys that we don't use and add some more? We need a change every now and then.

Checking on the condition of the nest box and Cam 4

I was thinking more in terms of which smileys would be replaced with new ones. In other words, which old "happy birthday" gets replaced with the new one.

It will take awhile before I can get to it. In the meantime maybe people could discuss which ones to remove.

What is that smell? Ha!
