Wow, The technical staff ( ) has outdone himself on this iteration  

It's a team effort. This was made possible thanks to the new Camera 1, and installing a camera is not a one-person job. Many thanks to GVAS president June Summers and her husband Drew for machining and installing a new pole for the camera, to Carol P for her assistance in getting the camera up and running, to the NYS DEC for making sure it was done safely both for the installers and the falcons, and to Rich Calabrese for letting us drill holes in his building. And, of course, to all you falcon fans for supporting Rfalconcam with donations that make this possible.

It works!

We have a new Camera 1 with HD views of Mercury and FCT.

We're going back to the Times Square Building this morning to finish installing a new Camera 1.

Any chance we can move to Google Groups?  I like getting email notification of posts.

I'll look into it. We'll probably need some moderators.  Any volunteers?

Beauty had a nice full crop.

Weather permitting, this Thursday, October 8th, Camera 1 will be replaced with a new HD camera. Additionally, the other four cameras will be cleaned and adjusted, and the site will be inspected for damage. The cameras at the Times Square building will be turned off during this procedure, which is expected to start at 8 [...]

We ran into multiple problems and couldn't complete the installation of the new camera. We'll regroup and try again in a few weeks.

It saddens me to report that another one of the Rfalconcam community is no longer with us. Marcia Lyman passed away peacefully Monday.

Marcia was an active falcon watcher for many years in addition to being a member of the Rfalconcam staff in its early days. Marcia helped raise thousands of dollars to keep the young website alive and allow it to grow.

Rest in peace, Marcia. We will miss you.
