When you are on the voting page, if you click on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of each logo, it will display a larger version of it.

When I do that, the larger image scoots off the top of the page-I can see just a bit of the bottom of the logos.  And the page can't be scrolled.

Ei

You can also view larger versions of them on the original project page. They are entries 99 and 109.

Please note that the "eye" banner shown with the 2nd logo in not part of the actually logo. It's merely an example of how the logo could be used on a banner.

It's perfect weather for reinstalling Camera 1.

Great tree. I'm going soon.

Just don't go on a weekend.  I made that mistake once-went down to hang out with my cousins from NJ-OMG!  Remember that Star Trek episode with the overpopulated planet?  That's what it was like trying to go down 5th Avenue.  Never imagined in my life I'd feel claustrophobic on a city street!

Ei

Oh boy, yes, we are going on a WEEKEND. It's OK, I love hustle and bustle, I  think!  suspicious

I also want to go to Hoboken and get a cake from the "Cake Boss". I know I'll never get in there.

I love the hustle & bustle too-that's why we met up before Christmas.  This was WAY beyond hustle & bustle.  I literally had a panic attack...felt like I was suffocating.

Ei

That's what you get for living in a town with only one traffic light.

Shaky >> Once we have all the entries, we will narrow them down to our top 2-5 choices unless there is an obvious winner, which is highly unlikely. Then we will open it up to a public vote.

THAT would be really appreciated and welcomed, Shaky!  I would really like to be able to be part of that decision, as I'm sure lots of other members will be!

There will be an announcement on Imprints soon.

Current Rank
15th

Today is the deadline...can we make the top 10? Please vote.

#1 in the 250K category is helping rescued animals from cruelty HSUS
#1 in the 50K  category is Stop healthy animals being fed antibiotics
#1 in the 25K category is Teaching Hip-Hop to inner city kids
#1 in the 5K   category is providing shelter dogs with much needed comfort items

http://www.refresheverything.com/leaderboard

Gee, I wish someone had taught me Hip-Hop when I was growing up in the inner city so I would have a such a valuable skill as an adult. Those worthless math, science, and written language skills I was taught have really hindered me.  Roll Eyes

And why does anyone need $50K to stop healthy animals from being fed antibiotics? Simply raise the price of antibiotics and use the surplus money to educate people on the effects of giving antibiotics to healthy animals. The higher cost alone will force farmers to stop doing it. They will only be able to afford enough of antibiotics to give to the sick animals that really need them.

Her quote won't come through because she didn't use any valid keywords like "falcon" in her tweet.

Should we add Pefa to the list?

No, because Pefa is part of her twitter username. All of her tweets would show up on the Forum, not just the ones related to falcon watching. A quick check of her twitter profile shows that she has quite a few non-falcon tweets.

I can add pefa to the list if she promises to only tweet about falcons. The alternative is have her change her username.

A quick check on CafePress shows that we could sell decals, bumper stickers, and magnets for about $5 apiece.

Rumack: You'd better tell the Captain we've got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.
Elaine Dickinson: A hospital? What is it?
Rumack: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.
5310  Rochester Falcons / Rfalconcam Website News / Re: A New Logo on: 29-Nov-10, 08:24:30 AM
Question - Does anyone know why some logos are now withdrawn that were up there before?  Are they withdrawn by the artist or by crowdSpring?

I noticed many forum members are leaning towards a more traditional-type logo. Does fast/sleek mean abstract or modern to a graphic artist?

They are withdrawn by the artist. Each artist determines what sleek/fast means to them.

I am very pleased to see the variation in interpretation. I doubt that we falcon watchers would have come up with some of these great designs.

There are several good, clean logos submissions, but I'm having difficulty getting a really clear picture of what the bird represented is... Some are too generic, some look like parrots... Did you indictate that the artists could be contacted to give them a chance to rectify the lack of clarity? I do like several of the designs, as they give tight, clear information that is definitely the basis of what comprises a good logo...

Yes, we have left feedback for each artist on their designs and most of them have made modifications to address our concerns.

We'd obviously like a logo that conveys the sense of a peregrine falcon -- speed, agility, beauty, etc. We also want the logo to be eye-catching and attractive with simple lines and bold colors. These last two attributes will make the logo easy to reproduce at varying sizes on a variety of media on many different background colors. The logo should also work well without its accompanying text. (e.g. the old Kodak K, the Xerox X, Apple's apple, AT&T's sphere, Nike's swoosh, McD's arches) When the logo is rendered with text, the artist is asked to provide a font the goes well with the design. Finally, the logo should work well in a variety of aspect ratios from long narrow banners and bumper stickers to more square spaces like mugs, baseball caps, and buttons.

I see that time is running out for logo submissions, a little over 11 hours left. There are some nice new ones this morning to look at. It is going to be very hard to decide. Will the committee do the choosing from the feedback posted by various members?

Once we have all the entries, we will narrow them down to our top 2-5 choices unless there is an obvious winner, which is highly unlikely. Then we will open it up to a public vote.
