eBay only accepts Paypal. There may be a way to buy a set directly from Rfalconcam, but I don't have that information.
5462  Member Activities / Auctions and Sales for Fundraising / PEREGRINE FALCON postcards of the Rochester falcons on: 21-Sep-10, 07:48:09 AM
Now on eBay

19 postcards created by Lou for only $9.99 plus shipping and handling.

This is a set of 4"x 6" postcard-sized composite prints of the Rochester Falcons, including Mariah, Kaver, and all offspring from 2005 to 2008.  Designed by local falcon watcher, Lou Capuano, these postcards include a picture of each of the seventeen juvenile peregrine falcons after they had fledged from the nest box atop the Kodak Office building and were flying free in the surrounding area.  Each postcard includes the falcon's name using the text color of the band that the falcons were given when they were eyases and a quote or poem that relates to their name.  Lou later developed Mariah and Kaver postcards which are also included in this set!

This is not an auction. You can buy a set now for only $9.99!

100% of the final sale price will go to Genesee Valley Audubon Society to support Rfalconcam.

I would like to see something like these street light banners that you see everywhere in the city:

They could be put up on all street lights within 2-3 blocks of Broad and Exchange, and they could easily be swapped out during the off-season for holiday banners, etc.

EDIT: Notice that the one on the left has a peregrine color scheme.

How would banners with these strangers on them promote the Rochester Falcons?

They'd obviously have falcon images printed on them.

Lou posted this last week under BBC Vids.

Also, BTW... discovered that SNAG also stands for Sensitive New Age Guy (S.N.A.G)... do we know any??

No, we don't know any. They don't watch falcons because the wind might mess up their hair.

IOAG (Insensitive Old Age Grump)

It figures that they would show up right after I left the building.

You know - maybe it is just me and the Irish Experience... but I am not sure I would agree with putting signs up to signal the presence of PFs or any other BoP. It seems like an invitation to pigeon fanciers, egg collectors: "Target! This way!" It may be different when they nest on tall, inaccessible buildings

There is no way those nutjobs are getting up to the nest box on Times Square. Security is too tight.

The sign on the bridge even says they're there

The NYS Bridge Authority put up that sign. It sure would be nice if the city of Rochester would put up some signs like this around Downtown.

Did it need replacing? Thank you again!

I was able to reboot it, but I replaced it so I could run some tests on it at home.

I believe the blue building is a power plant.

What is it with falcons and power plants?

The streaming computer is down again. Looks like I'll need to go over to Times Square today to replace it with the backup. First I need to find someone to let me in.

Good luck Shaky and thanks!  bow

It's fixed.

5475  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Canal-based changes ahead for downtown Rochester on: 19-Sep-10, 09:37:43 AM
The article tells how the area near the Time Square building will change over the next 15 years. (Rochester-speak for "never")

Fountains are planned for Broad Street near Falcon Watch Central. There is a picture of them in the article. The pic includes Carla P's Mini Cooper. The Phillippone building across the street from the Times Square building will be turned into apartments. (Are you reading this, Lisa McK?)
