I am well, MAK, thanks for asking. It would be really nice if Veteran brought back a mate to his old stomping grounds by you so he wouldn't be tempted to interfere with Beauty, DC, and fledglings.

Dot, we are all hoping for that-the good news is that I'm seeing Veteran on the building and yesterday I watched him clear the airspace here by Seneca Towers so he's keeping his territory so far. Thank you for the update MAK, such a tragic situation. I hope Veteran can find himself a new mate and I'm sure given all the pefas that go through the area he shouldn't have any trouble attracting someone. Still sucks though, Luzerne was so young... . Joyce mentioned maybe Billie will come back and hook up with Veteran-that would be sweet. Feel awful about Luzerne tho...

MAK,I've also been thinking of you all day because it seemed so absolutely fitting that your new place came with a pair of falcons. I feel so bad for you and for Luzerne and Veteran. I'm sad too for all of us who got to know her a bit through your reports. Falcons seem not to dwell on sorrowful events like many of us humans do, and perhaps in due time Veteran will attract another mate. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Thank you Dot-it's good to hear from you. I hope you are well. Sad times for all that loved Luzerne and Voyager. I'm sure Veteran will find another mate, I just hope he brings her back here.

As if it wasn't enough to lose Voyager-now we've lost Luzerne! Sure wish I had known her longer-she gave me some memorable moments flying past my window vocalizing most of the time to let me know she was out there. Chasing Veteran who had food and screaming the whole time. There's nothing else like seeing a falcon at eye level about 20 feet away!! I'll never forget the first time I saw her after moving into Seneca Towers-I was walking out to my car to go on my morning watch and I heard her. I looked up at the building and straight above me was Luzerne on the east side roof! Even tho the sightings only lasted seconds as she and Veteran passed by it was more than enough and I feel privileged for the short time I got to share space with this gorgeous sub-adult Peregrine Falcon! I'll never forget her!
