Thanks everyone for looking after me-I made it home a couple hours later than expected, no big deal! Way better than 36 hours by bus!!! Been very busy since I walked through the door trying to get caught up, settled and organized. No worries, I'll be out in the morning for my falcon watch!

Great last album! I sure hope the bull makes it. Next year Ebony will be a full grown cow. I hope she is a dairy cow and not beef.

No worries Nora-these Black Angus Cattle are used for breeding and selling only. The latest on the sick one is that after Langston gave it some medications it actually got up on its feet later on which is a good sign. It was looking to be in poor condition tho and it's going to be a wait and see situation. I'm keeping positive thoughts!

Thanks everyone! I have one last installment before I wrap it up here on my last ride in Paradise-day 30. It's been a GREAT month spent here with my loved ones and nature, leaving me with memories I'll always cherish. My daily trip started and ended with Ginger and Savannah. I stopped by some Heifers who were eating-one stuck her tongue out at me as did Ebony when I passed by her. Langston, one of the ranch hands stopped to tell me there was an eagle eating the afterbirth of a newborn, less than an hour old, straight ahead. I got there just in time to catch the Bald Eagle fly away and land in a tree to oversee the baby, mom and some cows who were checking out the newbie. Birds that showed up to bid me farewell included my regulars-a Kestrel,Mockingbird,Red-tail Hawks,Meadowlarks and Turkey Vultures. I found a sick bull and reported it to Mike-I hope he makes it (he wouldn't lift his head at all for me)! I'm going to really miss every bit of this place but am looking forward to seeing our beloved Rochester Peregrine Falcons again. That's all she wrote folks! Day 29 in Paradise was a big raptor day on the ranch and Dove Rd. with the highlight being a Bald Eagle in pasture #13 on the ranch! I was watching vultures when lo and behold one of them drew my attention right to a tree the eagle was in. I waited a long time for it to fly off but left before he did so. Next I found Ebony and her mama-I thought mama was leading her youngun away from me but it turned out that the feed truck was coming. Bill filled the trough as a couple loose calves were in front of the tractor. I captured a tender moment as a calf was feeding from mom. Red-tail Hawks and American Kestrels were out and about on Dove Rd. as usual and I spotted a Red-shoulder Hawk on Hazelton Rd. I found a pig and some other interesting things to round out my watch! Loved all the pics and videos! Sweet Angel.
Didn't realize you were moving.
Yes Nora, had to sell the house-not by choice. Bummer about having to sell the house. Sure wish I had kept my patents' house. I would rent it to you really reasonably. It was in a nice location in Brighton. I kick myself for not keeping it, but at the time it had too many memories. My room looked the same in 1999 as when I grew up. Loved yesterday's pics and videos. Hope you had a nice dinner. happy Birthday to your sister. Nora, unfortunately homes can't always be kept forever-this was supposed to be my last home before either kicking the bucket or going to a nursing home. Life happens right?! Anyway, thanks for your kind thoughts! Dinner was great and I will tell my sister you said Happy Birthday.

The guy is a Falconer, I guess! He has a few pics on his page with the Falcon and other birds it took down. New way of transmitting I guess. Top Flight Falconry Products is introducing a new revolutionary method for attaching the Marshall Radio RT Plus, RT UHF and the RT Turbo Transmitters by way of Leg mount style. It is the easiest method for attaching and removing a transmitter from your falcon or hawk with a few simple twists of the wrist. Held in place and very secure with a single silicone O-ring which is rated for the most extreme conditions. Outfit each of your birds, (vest or bag for safe storage) with the Leg Mount Nut. The bewit I use is slightly smaller around the tarsus than the standard one so there is less play and less flop. Yes it's a bit more difficult to put on the first time, but you only have to do this once cause it stays on your bird. A bewit with less slack keeps the transmitter from flapping around and causing problems that a loosely mounted transmitter could. Flying more than one bird but only have two transmitters? This is the slickest and easiest way to transfer transmitters from bird to bird. The Nut and Cap are CNC machined out of 7075 aluminum and black anodized. Her name is Nike and I guess she is trained to take down stuff!! Not sure if I like the leg transmitter idea-seems like it could injure her leg if it got caught on something. I do however like the name and she is a pretty falcon!

On day 28 in Paradise my sis, Mary Ellen and niece, Lorri took me to Beaver Lake where there are supposed to be lots of Bald Eagles-not in the area we were in but it was a beautiful place just the same! The campgrounds we were tooling around in had sites right above the water-how cool is that? We took some dirt roads near it and on one of them we had about 6 dogs come down the road after us!!! We stopped to talk to some mules-did you know that mules are half horse/half donkey? I also did a short morning ride finding a Pileated woodpecker on Dove Road but couldn't get a clear shot of it and Angel was laying down resting as I drove by. The Egyptian Geese on the ranch ran away from me and a Kestrel was hanging on to a swaying in the wind power line as he tried to find a meal below him. Tonight we are going out to dinner to celebrate my sisters' birthday which is on Monday.
