Good going Pat! 

These are the most migratory of the world's falcons, the adults heading to Patagonia in southern South America for the winter before returning to its high Arctic breeding grounds in Greenland on an annual basis. That is a minimum of a 20 thousand mile annual commute and some huge open water crossings!!

Then there is the breed that makes the huge open water crossing from Rochester to Toronto... once.

It's the wafting savory scent of poutine...

...though I have often wondered what savory scent is wafting the other direction for so many to make the crossing TO Rochester

I have always felt sorry for Pigott and wish somehow, someway a nest box could be erected on the building she has chosen to call home!  Is this possible at all?  Thanks to each and every watcher out there!  You all are amazing!

The DEC will not encourage falcons to nest there by putting a nest box up. It's a dangerous place with all the vagrants and vandals that break in since it's an abandoned building. They want to discourage the birds. That's what was told to me by DEC biologist Jenny Landry when I ran into her there as they were boarding up the broken window scrape that Pigott and DC were using.

Good question-I didn't send this. It's not a pocket text cuz it doesn't show up in my sent box on my phone.  

I still can't get the livestream to come up-it's weeks now since it last worked for me, so I couldn't see Beauty either. 

If I do decide to try again, it will be better. Including a place where the older ostriches can go so you can come visit them. My next update will be with photographs of the ostrich hatchery............

Thanks for posting this Kathy. I'm very glad Stormin' is ok-he and Haven are special to me since I got to hold their offspring Solar in 2012 as he got banded. What a thrill that I'll never forget!
