According to one of the volunteers who went out to help clear debris, the pelicans all made it through Hurricane Irma and are doing fine.

The sanctuary sustained some structural damage, and an outdoor hospital area will need to be rebuilt, but otherwise everything came through the storm okay.

A short update on Spirit today, posted by Eve Belisle:

And in passing, I have had news of Spirit. She is doing well, the swelling in her elbow remains a problem, but everything else has come along very well, the range of motion in her wing is good according to the report from Dr. Fitzgerald. It is still too soon to know if she will be able to return to the wild.

Although, I do have to wonder if this pigeon may have had a run in with Beauty or Dot.ca and not a hawk.

It also could have had a run in with the falcon I've seen at the Brighton site in the last week. That site is much closer to where the pigeon was found than downtown. At any rate, it's good that it was rescued. Thanks Jeanne!!  

According to the website, Romeo and Juliet have both been seen after the hurricane, at their sleeping tree.
