Joyce and I went to Montezuma Wildlife Refuge on Friday afternoon hoping to find a juvie PEFA named Baron but no such luck. We did however see many adult and juvie Bald Eagles flying and frolicking in the blue sky, Northern Harriers, 2 White Pelicans (rare around here) and my first pelicans of any kind. There were plenty of gulls, Canadian Geese, ducks and cormorants. A nice surprise was 3 Sandhill Cranes, many White Egrets and Great Blue Herons. And to end the day there was a hot air balloon to send us off with smiles!
