after sitting on main for a bit. Camp
I am enjoying all your sightings, Camp! Thanks! Esp for being the eyes in the back of MAK's very capable head! It's really nice to have cam watchers literally watching our backs for us in the field. Any watcher will tell ya how hard it is to watch more than one falcon by yourself. Oh boy, we'll have 3 fledglings to keep track of besides Beauty,Pigott and DC. Bucket your seat belts everyone, it may be a bumpy ride!!

Shania, a young Peregrine Falcon from Etobicoke Sunlife, took her first flight into the big world early this morning. She had quite the day out and got into a bit of trouble throughout the day. She ended up in pretty much the same spot as her sister Layton and was rescued shortly after I left the watch by our friend B.e. Massey. Way to go Bruce! On FB Bruce was born to be a hero!

I won't comment on bureaucracy that is out of any of our control...other than to say my experience has always been you push, they dig in their heels even further.
But the youngest is just 22 days today...late tonight if you want to be technical about it. It's a range to account for multiples, not something written in stone.
Yesterday's outing was a stumble. I didn't see today's live, but he was back in with no trouble. They band eyases not in a box all the time.
I guess I'm just trying to say it's not time to panic by any means. Communication would be nice, but see item #1.
Absolutely, Ei. I just wish I had a bit of faith that the people who do have control of this situation actually know that it's banding time. While we all care so much for these creatures I don't think you can keep pushing the issue. We have to remember what happened when some pushed the issue of the deceased PEFA on the top of one of Rochester's buildings. We are so lucky to be given the exposure that we have to this nest and consequently want more but realistically have to be thankful for the wonderful setup, our dedicated watchers, talented keepers of the records and cameras, lurkers and those at DEC and have patience for what may or may not come, don't you agree? Totally!
