We are so privileged to watch these magnificent creatures' daily lives on camera. I'm very sad that the resident mom lost her nest, territory and even possibly her life after such a hard fought resistance. She fought hard to take over that site and she fought even harder to keep it. We have to respect her for that, however, I'm so impressed with Cadence at only 2 years old being such a battle maiden. She will be a force to reckon with for years to come and I wish her much success!

Not sure why they think she can't lay eggs, she most certainly can at 2 years of age. She wants food and a canoodle and dad just wants to incubate right now..but he'll eventually realize he's going to have to get with the new program.
I agree Carly. I'm wondering if when neither Cadence nor the resident male are on camera if they are off bonding and mating. They need boots there to watch from the ground more to see the clear picture of what's going on.

I haven't noticed any signs of injury to Cadence. At only 2 years old she seems to be quite a force to be reckoned with. Hoping the resident female survived the battle. It's so bittersweet to watch these falcons so closely.

This is what a baby I am, I actually felt sick to my stomach over this today! Cadence must have been hiding in the wings getting ready to strike again! No wonder mom was never really at ease. I wasn't either, to be honest! She left too quick! If Cadence does take over, it will take me a while to adjust like I did with Unity and Beauty and all the others but we come to LOVE them no matter and we deal with it. Oh, I just want to jump in the cams sometimes!!! I want to rescue all of them....NOW!!! It's certainly hard to digest at times. Definitely not for the feint of heart to witness these battles whether it be on camera or live. I've done both and I think I'd rather be on the ground watching where I could possibly help if one comes down.
