Just so you know, Amora and Blaze (again) both hit windows last night, which gave poor Ann and Patty heart attacks. These juvies all have 9 lives. Both are fine and doing good after, like it was a snap!

Was just checking Zoo Borns and found this post and birth announcement.  Wow...what a beautiful, unique bird.   I must claim ignorance and say I've never even heard of this bird but I know a lot of you are keen birders so you will likely recognize it.  Enjoy!

On my last day in paradise I just clicked away with my Canon PowerShot SX30 IS camera.(Thank you again Janet and Joyce for this camera has changed my life.) All my feathered friends showed up and the 3 amigos Chippy,Chip and Chipper as well. Mr. Red Squirrel made an appearance along with some newbies-a juvie Starling, a male House finch, my first shot of a gold finch. The best feature of the day was as I sat on the front porch watching the bird feeder I heard the horses banging their hooves on the little shack in the pasture where they get shade. I walked over to the tree line just in time to see Lacey lay down for a dust bath! I had such a good time the last 10 days with all my critter friends. And I hope you all did too!

So much neat stuff in this world! 

Nest check at CT this am found Gleig    doing fly-bys and touch 'n goes which thrilled the screaming girl    but the other kept falling asleep.   Both escapees are using the nestbox as a shade umbrella.  This means they cannot get out as far as they could on the perches.  Not sure if the box isn't mounted a bit too high for them to jump back in.  Fledging by the weekend I expect!

Update: As you may have read on Liz's blog (http://slcfalcons.blogspot.com/) there's been a lot going on with the falcon kids. Boxer Sue is doing great. She's had a few really good flight days and seems to be progressing.

Primo has had a few complications since suffering his crash last week. He is still being observed by the rehabber this morning, but will hopefully be released by 11:00 or noon today. Keep your fingers crossed!

Glad you could enjoy along with me Lola and Kris. My nephew and his family should be home here in a couple hours. Just talked to my sis in Arkansas, she gets so sad when we leave after visits. Me too...

Day 9 in paradise featured a trip into the small town of Nunda less than 5 minutes to the south. It's a quaint little place. Both robin nests fledged 3 babies each in the last couple days. May they fly safely into the next chapter of their lives. Tomorrow is my last day here as the family left my sisters place in Arkansas about an hour ago to return to paradise. They should arrive around 2pm as they drive straight through. I've had a peaceful visit and I will miss ALL the critters.
