On Wildlife Center of Virginia's FB page today!

Success! Wildlife Center President Ed Clark reported in from the field earlier today -- he said Bald Eagle NX was successfully released at the Rapphannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge at 12:10 p.m. She flew about 75 yards to a tall tree, took in her surroundings for about five minutes, and then flew off through the woods, over an estuary, and into the forest! She did "everything she's supposed to do!"
 

 

Im fairly certain MAK heard Tracy singing across the lake!! While we will all miss Angel, we are glad to see our old friend Oconnor. Im sure there are many adventures left to come.

I wondered what that noise was coming from the north! 

Looks like MAK is going to be a Grandma!   

 

 

 

I was chatting with Big Frank about this and it looks like it could be a respiratory illness called Frounce, where they can't swallow and eventually succumb to it without treatment. If that's what it is then the eyases are susceptible for it is contagious. Too darn sad!  

    Good news on both sides of the border today or should I say yesterday!?  Cheers to continued good stuff happening! Gotta love ALL our falcons! 

Sure did pick a good day to join!

I don't think Bill will find them very cute when they start eating his vegetable garden! 

We already have quite a few rabbits around here so he says what's 6 more and actually the deer do more garden damage than anything. These babies are awful tiny and cute! He saw the nesting material and thought it was a birds nest.  What a surprise!
