Good work everyone! There was a lot to move and set up. I saw all the equipment when I visited the well and nest box area a few weeks back.

Hi folks! Day 9 in paradise was very exciting for me because I had my first eagle sighting. Unfortunately I got no take off shot or video of it flying because as usual I look away for a second and...gone. Instead of taking off and flying in my direction it flew in the opposite direction through the trees and vanished. I had the pleasure and privilege of sharing space with this magnificent raptor for nearly 2 and1/2 hours! I hope you enjoy my pics of the day!

I think just about everyone in Arkansas works for Walmart! Maybe just up here in the northwest part of the state where I'm staying.    Sam Walton started his empire in a small corner store in the town of Bentonville not too far from here. My sis lived in Bentonville when they first moved here some 15 yrs. ago and on my first visit she drove me past it! I don't know you Tom but best wishes to you!

I ate supper in Bentonville (birthplace of Walmart) tonight! 

I remember going to midnite mass and having to go right to bed afterwards. Still getting up around 6:00 and waking my parents up. After that we too would have a hot breakfast and get cleaned up for the relatives to come and watch the pile of gifts grow and grow! It would be a sit down dinner after we opened gifts. 12 people at the dining room table, 6 more at the kitchen table and the rest on card tables in the living room. My mom would put out dishes of pickles and olives that everyone would grab on their way by the table as we waited for the meal to be served. I loved Christmas growing up and I still do tho it's so totally different now. Hey that's life,things change but I think as long as you keep the spirit in you  that's all that is needed!

  One of the traditions here in Arkansas is they leave a corndog and some moonshine out for Santa!

   Day 8 in paradise wasn't too exciting. 40 degrees with spotty showers all day. My sis drove me around and into Missouri looking for an eagle this morning...still no luck on that front but I did spot a couple raptors on our journey. I do enjoy riding around the ranch daily but I'd rather be searching for falcons in Rochester everyday like I used to. Ah, the winds of change they are a comin'! Enjoy !!!

Lola it was my sister Mary Ellen sitting in the chair with the dogs.  No knit hat and scarf needed here at the moment. It was 61 degrees today for a high but the nights do get pretty cold. I'm glad you liked my pics!
