**   Note:  The Southern 500 is still run at Darlington, SC, but in the springtime.  The Labor Day race had been run at California Speedway for a number of years (all part of the closure of "the Rock" - Rockingham, NC), but poor attendance and HEAT brought it back to it's southern roots - now at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Rain prevented the race from running last night - NASCAR will try again on TUESDAY at 10 AM - Smoke finishes well at "Hot'lanta).

 Danica Patrick finished 6th in the Baltimore Grand Prix - she is giving up Open Wheel for a full-time ride with JR Motorsports in the Nationwide Series and 10 Cup races with Stewart-Haas Racing.

A lot of us have forgotten that Archer did a great job of incubation.  What if one or more eggs had hatched?  That likely would have ensured that he had little time for Unity.  He was a good father last year and might have been an even better one this year.  We might even be comparing him to Kaver.

I love that phrase.  As long as they face into the wind, I'll be there, too. It's the least I can do.

One of the things I was most looking forward to was seeing Archer's parenting skills mature.  We have to have faith we'll have that chance next year.
