Beauty stayed long enough for 2 frames...

Looks like she's already had breakfast...

Ei

I think she was too busy with that other falcon to take time out for some eats!. The short time she was on Mercury she seemed very unsettled to me. Looking over her shoulder and everywhere else. Not her usual calm self. Wouldn't it be great if Archer was back?! gum
8643  Rochester Falcons / Falcon Watches / Re: Twitter on: 18-Dec-10, 09:18:18 AM
wave  Just to elaborate on my last tweet I'd like to say it was an eventful watch this morning. After Beauty left Mercury I sat on the Broad St. bridge for a bit and just as I was getting ready to go cruising to find Beauty I saw a big bird in the sky over the Monroe County Jail. After further inspection through my binoculars I decided it was a Red-tailed Hawk. Beautiful! As i watched, a falcon appeared and started dive bombing the hawk and then another falcon joined in the onslaught. This second Peregrine looked smaller than the other one so I assumed I had a male and female(Beauty?). I watched the 3 of them fly over OCSR,the river, the Hyatt and then the hawk left and flew north towards High Falls. The larger falcon flew down and tapped the other one on the back. They continued flying, gliding and hovering above Xerox. I took a couple pics but only managed to get 1 bird in each photo. I decided to drive over to Xerox and get a closer look but when I got over there they started drifting back towards the river. That's when I lost them behind the buildings. I did a drive around looking for them but never found them again so I came home to eat some breakfast. It was nice to have the sun shining for a change on my morning watch! Have a great day everyone!  heart heart heart heart

She's there now!

OK, I GIVE!

(Not everyone can be Ms Smarty-Pants MAK and her new scope, you know! paperbag And my bins just do not work at this distance...)

(Haha, MAK! I could not resist!  happy)

Bobbie you are a funny little character today!  Grin  I was telling Donna that even in person it's hard to tell sometimes if Beauty is up there. It's nice to have the new scope fixed on that spot so I can keep checking to be sure, especially on snowy mornings like today. I was surprised my pics came out as clear as they did.(which wasn't all that clear) Wink gum

I just glanced over to the right, as the Xmas light display finished (and it was pretty spectacular!!) and I saw a small, serious looking little girl with a trumpet...so clicked on her video, just to see, just to hear...  This is a 13 year old girl, named Melissa Venema, who has an amazing ability to make her instrument sing such pure notes, it's almost hard to believe what you are hearing!!  And her breathe control is outstanding and its volume unbelievable!  It's a must to see!!  A must listen!!  She was recorded in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
