BC I'm confident that one of our watchers with a long lens camera or scope will ID this falcon. It is a long way but she does fly over us here and there so we'll get her band numbers. We just have to be vigilant and patient. We also have a couple Kodak workers and security guards checking their cams (of which there are many)so maybe we can find out that way.
I don't even know how to read a bird guide! I looked for a bird once.....forget it! Anywho, Charlotte Pier is where Jim P saw the BEAUTIFUL Snowy Owl a few years back, I think! He had some great pics of her too!
You're right about the Snowy Owl at Charlotte pier. Joyce and Brian are always talking about the Snowy's that hang out there and on the Summerville pier which is on the other side of the Genesee river. For sure I will be checking it out this winter!
The optimum depth of birdbath water, says the Audubon Society of America, is 2 and a half inches. Less water makes it difficult for birds to take a bath; more makes them afraid.
And I read somewhere they can drown in 3in. of water!
I wasn't able to find either one of our falcons again. However, I am thankful to have seen Beauty and Archer. Now if they would just visit the nestbox so everyone could see them! Have a marvelous day everybody!
