wave   Mayor Dan and I watched from the pedestrian bridge over at the high falls gorge this morning. Much better view without the buildings in the way although a further distance to look which makes it hard to identify. Callidora is easier to ID for this rookie watcher. She's the one running along the edges and wing flapping! Last nite watchers Dana,Lou,Joyce,Brian,Larry,Dan,Cleo(Dan's dog) and myself watched from the corner of Platt St and State St. Kodak right across the street. The veteran watchers are excited to be moving closer to the gorge. Me too except now I have to familiarize myself with another area. No problem with that I have my fellow watchers to show me all the old haunts! heart

Now us veteran (watchers from afar) are pretty familiar with the gorge, Kodak area. I  heart it there. Thanks MAK!  clap

Great news! yahoo The gorge has to be cooler for all of the watchers, too.

wave   Not really Janet. There's no shade out on that bridge.    handshake

I wish they could change the pool water as often, feels like bath water. Maybe a few bags of ICE.

If you can get a block of ice (5 - 10 lbs, maybe 25) it will help.  Toss that bad boy it the water and watch it melt!

Gee, do they still deliver them big blocks of ice?

Makes me think of the 3 Stooges!  Carrying the ice up the stairs. hahaha

A BBC film crew has filmed the intimate life of one of the world's largest and most powerful eagles, the harpy eagle of Central and South America.

The Harpy Eagle is so amazing.  clap

WOW! That was something. I wonder if there was any bloodshed. Thanks Donna! clap

Ok, I know that Donna will not agree with this, but even 103 and 104 temps are better than 3 feet of white stuff coming out of the sky!

Kidding aside, today is already an altert day here in the DC region, please remember to keep yourselves hydrated and check on your senior neighbors and parents.  Rich is planning "lite" days all week.  AND remember, when it finally does rain, the roads are going to be nice and oily from the lack of rain.

Be careful out there, please?

natale3     Hey what's wrong with snow, it's just frozen rain which I know you could use right about now!   silly

Also, don't forget your backyard birds. Even if you don't have a birdbath, put out a tin or any shallow platter with some water in it. They will appreciate it. I saw too many yesterday panting, looking for a quick drink.  Sad

We are changing the water several times during the day (also keep the bugs from laying eggs in the water).

I wish they could change the pool water as often, feels like bath water. Maybe a few bags of ICE.

goodone ICE! natale3 clap   You're always thinking! rofl

I used to like airshows until I started watching (and worrying about) newly fledged peregrines.

A news report said that planes will be practicing at the Rochester airport tonight starting at about 7:30.

So more loud noises for our peregrines!

:wave:Callidora was on the Kodak Office launchpad all nite and she didn't even flinch when two jets went screaming right over her head. So don't worry so much. She's fine. handshake

Thanks, MAK!!!   I was headed out to be with you all and got unexpected company:(

Glad she did ok with the planes!  How funny that she found Kodak-- visiting her great grandparents site!

Darn, I really enjoy talking and watching with you Jeanne. harhar

Agreed - very easy to grow - my mother had them all over the place.

I did NOT mist or water them today and they are wilted, but my coleus came back when the sun dipped behind the trees.

I don't want to loose next years blooms, so that is my concern today.  We do have a good compost pile going and we use bark, too.  I plan to put some of the compost on the beds in the last fall to keep things warm over the winter.  Like Patti, we don't get too many leaves, but unlike Patti, we have the clay.

Will provide updates.

:wave:You won't lose next years blooms just this years. handshake
