107  Anything Else / Totally OT / sorry to be missing all the Falcon activities both downtown and at Kodak Park. on: 09-Aug-09, 02:50:24 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm so sorry to be missing all the Falcon activities both downtown and at Kodak Park. Sad  My Mom had a very minor stroke last Thursday, so I've been tied up, running back and forth from Hamlin to St. Mary's Rehab.
Carla P.
I  hope your mom has a full recovery. Good for her keeping the smiles coming
108  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Can't get no satisfaction (falconless watch) on: 09-Aug-09, 12:03:33 AM
Dana and I went looking for falcons this afternoon. We ran into Carol at Kodak Park but we didn't see any falcons there. We drove to the Maplewood park area and checked out Hawkeye. No falcons there either. We looked on the Seneca Tower Building. Nada. We then traveled downtown and checked out OCSR, the Times Square building, and every other building (well almost). No falcons. We then went to the bridge and saw a Red Tailed Hawk hanging out on the gorge wall, but had no sightings of any falcons.  Desperate, I snapped a few pictures of where our juvies used to hang out and asked Baron to fill in some space to help me get some level of satisfaction. Here he is with his commentary...

hysterical I was laughing at every picture. You brought me much needed smiles today. I  just got home from seeing my 95 year old momma who is living with my sister but she looked so weak an is fading in health and then my hubby had to support his sister at the hospital where her husband almost died today. My mood was very low.
The first thing I looked at when I got home tonight, just now was your Baron pictures. Bless You Lou its the first time I laughed all day.

Here are my two pets -- Eric, a Three-toed Box Turtle, and Spot, our 17-year-old Black (with a white spot on her chest) Cat.  Eric wanted to show off his eating abilities -- he loves meal-worms and bananas...in fact, that's all he loves!  However, considering he is over 35 years old, it must be okay!

Anne C. (Toronto, ON Canada)

Meal worms and bananas sound ummm uummm ok I can't think about it right now I just ate heehee What a kewl pet Eric is. My friend in AZ had to get some type of state approval to have his turtle and his housing (the turtles) had to be specific to code and inspected too. Thats where I met my first turtle pet. He was a loved little guy.  Spot  kittykiss is a sweety too

One more bird for this  topic.  Here is Fidget, snuggling up with my daughter.  He will hold this pose for a very long time.  One of the most frequent things he says is "Chirp!" -- not a chirp, but the word.   He also frequently assures me that I'm a good bird.   Last May was the third anniversary of his hatching, so he and Rhea Mae are about the same age.  He also fledged on the same day she did.

Fidget looks so comfy on Katherines cheek. Sweet picture. Chirp lol !!!  I love Budgies too. My budgie Whitey talks and talks. Baley.. he only says Hello but he does it in different keys.

This is my little Wonder Bird Weavie
Weavie is an orange bishop African weaver finch.  Weavie was wild caught and came to live with me on Feb 4, 1987.  He has a ''frozen'' left foot due to injury when he was 5 years old and he is still chasing his harem of 3 little female finches. He is my oldest bird.

What a beautiful finch. I love his colors. I had no idea finches lived such long lives. Goodness 22 years surprise Hes wonderful Thank you for sharing Wonder Bird Weavie's picture

So cute! The kitties almost look like twins. Looks like they're very close.

 Grin Grin
They were but now they're 4 years old and not as cuddley with each other. One is a torti and the other gray tiger striped.

Bullet and Casey look so friendly. I miss my dogs.. I had a black lab and a Rhodesian ridgeback before my birds. They are such loves.

Well, this is my first post.  Strange that on a board that is dedicated to our Queen, her grandson Archer & his bride, Beauty, none of the pets are birds.

Here is Bug, a 3" parrotlet.  He has an ego that would even go up against a raptor (he doesn't understand he's so little)

Oh Kyrie you missed my 3 I posted. One is my avatar (Baley) and 2 are in my last post with my kitty Gizmo. But you do have to look close because they are behind the screen door. Here's my baby, Buddy, also a parrotlet  thumbsup. Buddys a lutino parrotlet and I know what you mean by not realizing hes tiny!! He constantly flys to my Baleys (Ekkie 10+ inches) cage and wants to rumble  playnice I luv my feathered friends  heart  BUG is very handsome ..
Whoops I almost forgot my last 2 girls. And thats the gang..
