It's often thought Peregrines do not hunt at night. I just happened to look over at the computer and put my headphones on in time to hear DC's incoming call and Beauty come out of the box to accept a prey delivery from DC at 1:38AM. You can just make DC out on the corner of the deck, on the other side of the main cam. He did not stay long. I barely had enough time to get the recorder up. All the eyasses were hungry and ready to eat. What a wonderful set of parents these kids have!
I think they are adapting to city living the lights are on so they can still see, maybe the smaller birds stay up later too. Also wasn't there a picture some where of a falcon with a bat it had caught?
oh and that was a female Bluebird, Bluejays are blue, white & black. dusty rose is on a Bluebird. Just blue & black is an Indigo Bunting
That is like my bird feeders sometimes I get hawks come in and grab the little guys, I am not thrilled but I just consider it feeding the birds, I love them all but sometimes its not pretty (well I don't like cowbirds)
