I wondered actually if she might have learned a lesson from the Unity/Archer situation from last year and how it ended with her being hurt. I know they don't feel emotion per say, not the way we do, however I do believe they learn and adapt to threats. Perhaps she knows she needs to be more vigilant with other falcons outside the territory now, especially one her mate is involved with.
you are probably right. Specially how this pairing started out or almost didn't start out. I have a feeling that Pigott is his first choice and she is just not mature enough yet. She will probably make a move on down town when she is ready and who DC will side with if either we have no idea. We are not out of the woods yet we are probably in for a bumpy ride next season.

DC on eggs for 7 hours now!!! That's a long long shift. Atta boy! Keeps him away from BS! Oh but I feel bad for Pigott, she had him 1st! Wish she could hook up with KPT! actually I hope she gets him next year and Archer comes back to Beauty. But I am one to hope for miracles like Unity's egg hatching....what can I say.

By the time the breeding program started up in Canada there were only 6 Peregrine Falcons left in Canada from Alberta to the east coast. Thats 6 individuals. They were in Alberta. Northern Canada still had some at that time. Over 4000 Peregrines were released in Canada and the US. Because of their mortaility is so high it took a very long time for them to come back as far as they have. Its easy to see why so many Peregrines are related. The recovery started with so few pairs.
I had no idea the numbers were so low. That makes it an even more amazing recovery.
