Beauty -some good news tonight from DEC. Even better is that tomorrow it's been one week since you were found by some good samaritan. (Thank you). We celebrate and light candles in your honor, Beauty. We are talking about memories tonight... I see you flying around and having a good time last winter with your gentleman caller, Mr. T. You were quite a little flirt. I see you being the good first time mom to Callidora and Jemison. You had to teach Archer, the clueless , a thing or two! I see you on Mercury - the money bag and the foot! I think those are your two favorite spots! And MAK took lots of great pics of you on Mercury. I hope to see you again on Mercury. I see you bathing in the river in a pic that Carol took. It was hot, and you were having a good time. Most of all, I see you sitting on those eggs last spring when it was so cold, and so wet, and you protected those eggs with all of your might. I see you sitting and looking toward the KP site. Wisdom in those eyes. Those are the "Kodak" moments that I have of you Continue to be strong in your peregrine ways, Beauty.
Here ya go Margaret! that is where she belongs. She just looks so right there.

where exactly is the latest on Beauty's condition? I get very little computer time right now I thought it would be here. Can the powers that be maybe put a link in the shout box that would take you to the latest. Nothing on imprints nothing here. Just saying I do not have time to go looking. Funny never thought I'd warm up to Beauty after what happened with Mariah but all it took were two little eyases and that girl has a talon in my heart.

Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcons News / Re: Beauty Found Injured - Downtown Rochester (2/10/12)

Do other raptors fight to the death like peregrines? This has been bothering me for quite some time now. Most of the back yard birds I'm familiar with usually settle their battles before any serious injury occurs. How will the peregrine population ever increase if one simply replaces another through serious injury or death? Perhaps this is happening because of so many nests in cities?? Sometimes it almost seems as if peregrines are determined to keep their population low. It's extremely frustrating to watch. I sure hope someone can post some good information on this subject for me to read.
Dot in PA
Good questions Dot and hope we get some good answers. The Canadian falcons seem to get along, know their boundaries. Unity went way off her boundary. Maybe some are more aggressive? I can't imagine the pigeon supply dropping at Kodak Park, so what made her come to Beauty's territory? His name is Archer My thought was Beauty has a penthouse and all Unity has is a pile of pigeon poop

Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: So, What Does Everyone Think about the Rochester Falcons Situation?

The first Falcon love of my life was Kaver, I truly do not think he ever left Rochester (if you go back and read the old Kfalcon posts Mariah was hanging out in all of his old spots I think she was looking for him) I respect Mariah what a lady. I do not like what happened to her and was not thrilled with Beauty or Archer for that very reason. I wish we knew exactly where she is and maybe Mr T went and found her (ya just never know.)
But then A&B gave us Calli and Jemison. They earned my "grudging" respect. Now it drives me crazy when everybody says how sorry they are for Beauty. She is a fierce falcon and not an object of pity. She has earned my loyalty and I care about her, but I love Archer he is Kaver's grandson. He has not slighted either of his ladies. I think the problem this year was not having two females, I think it was enviromental there seemed to be a lot of problems out there this year. Watching Beauty protect her eggs during that storm getting soaked, such dedication and all for eggs that were not fertile, now that you can feel sorry about.
In a perfect world each of "our" girls would have their own mates. But I fear if a tiercel moves in over the winter there will be a territorial battle. Archer will not give up some of his territory without one.
I hope next year, things work out that there are so many eyas in and around Rochester that the watchers don't know which way to look.
This year it was a joy to watch Quest, Kendal and Harlie and not to forget the little Cinni mini
