im really through hearing about "poor beauty"--its just 2 sad----she
is not a victim---yes she didnt have babies this year but she is a beautiful
strong falcon, just like her mother dorothy--and next year she will likely have a nest
full of hatchlings---we need to STOP the pity talk--that's not what beauty is about

They were in the nest box bowing to each other today. So no he hasn't.

It is sad about Irving, but if there is a heaven for birds, he is happy knowing his family is being cared for.

I too read the blogs, I just don't always comment. 

Carol we were talking about Beauty on Midtown in 2009. Now that we know she disposes of bad eggs. She very well could have had a failed nest that year. They sure acted like they were nesting. Even though you didn't find any evidence of a scrape. (we will never know for sure)

first off Archer wasn't totally bonded with Mariah before Beauty showed up. Not that I liked that he sided with Beauty against our Queen. But she was younger and not related (if he could he know that?) actually I was not fond of either one of them the first year.

What I wonder is since in their first year together they had no hatches (I know you guys checked and saw no signs of a scrape but since we now know that they clean house there could of been eggs that did hatch), and in the the second year together they only had two hatch and Jamison was in rehab and not returned so Archer might think they only had one make it, and this year there were no hatches again. My point is he might think his chances of passing on his genes, having young is better with another female. (if they think this way, who knows)

Beauty is the only one who knows what Beauty really feels.

I don't think they can totally blame her age. As we have first hand knowledge a lot of nests did not do well this year for some reason.

ps her energy was expended laying the eggs not sitting on them. jmo
