YAY!  At least there will be young again this spring.  So happy.  As I commented in MAK's blog of this morning, perhaps when naming the young, the name "Mercury" should be considered in honor of "their place".  Not to jump the gun, but does it mean eggs around April 10, and if that 's the case, fledging might be when?  You experts can probably estimate that.   Will this be a little earlier than last year?
it should be sooner than April 10 as long as Archer is not shooting blanks. They had the first egg April 10 last year. But he is back a week earlier this year. So maybe the third or there about. (I'm just guessing I'm no egg-spert)

Oh, that is so awesome!!!  I think a lot of wandering birds returned "home" yesterday thumbsup
Suzanne, whose wandering crow also returned this weekend
Yes my first Turkey Vulture returned home too.

I'm glad Archer is home and Mr T finds a lady love of his own.

I'm so happy to hear that Archer is home but I do hope Mr T is okay too - he's a handsome tiercel and he kept Beauty company for quite awhile.  Send him over to Toronto - my Angel could use her own man and he seems loyal unlike a certain two timing tiercel who shall remain nameless  Roll Eyes  laugh

I don't know where Quest was today, but for the past 4 days, she has been very close to Pickering. She may have returned to the power plant.

Interesting-I thought for sure she was going to settle on the Lennox Power plant.
is this the one she was seen with the tiercel?

This is an especially critical time.  The Watchers will be watching for Archer's return.  We're really hoping that there won't be a territorial battle between the two Tiercels, but we are aware of this possibility.  We'll be Watching!
Yes and we are grateful  those of us who can't be there ourselves. I just hope if worse comes to worse that someone will be there at the right time and right place like you were for Mariah. I like Mr T and don't want him hurt he just needs to fly up to Charlotte or visit Lady P if her man doesn't come back. (or take one of Jack's ladies he's being a hog with two nest sites.)
657  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Pictures from the Rfalconcam cameras on: 10-Mar-11, 09:26:38 PM
Archer has always been on a later schedule than we are used to with Kaver. We have no idea where he migrates to. Maybe he is one that goes all the way to South America. I just hope he is safe and on his way home. What I worry about is that he is at a disadvantage if he has to take on Mr. T. He will be tired from migrating.
658  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Offspring / Re: Rhea Mae and Tiago's Webcam - Toronto - Canadian Peregrine Foundation on: 08-Mar-11, 10:12:36 PM
If it was Rhea Mae, no wonder the poor SS Hawk was hiding.  Thankfully he escaped to tell tales of his near miss with a big bad momma Pefa.  Mariah & Kaver would be proud of their daughter.   happy
oh yeah she is her mothers daughter  heart

I know this is Senecas topic but have we ever gotten a confirmed ID on Lady Pefa?
660  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Offspring / Re: Seneca Sighted at Brookpark Road Bridge with a Mate! on: 08-Mar-11, 07:10:26 AM
Archers coming its just that his time table is later than what we are used to with Kaver. Both years he showed up around the same time (I remember being worried last year) he came back the same day my TV's came home and they are not back yet either. I too think Mr T is cute so he needs to go and find a lady of his own. I really don't want him and Archer to fight. He could go up to the lady on the crane by the lake.

Seneca  wub2 I hope is just touring the lakes maybe she also likes the taste of shore birds or whatever it is Quest eats up there. Little warrior was not quite right (feathers not developed correctly) maybe Seneca thinks the problem is nest location (or Cheyenne) So she is checking out all her options.
