Dorothy expelled the egg. Will she recover now? Does this mean her egg-laying days are over? What about the eggs in the scrape now?
Well Kate tweeted earlier that she and E2 were seen mating this afternoon ..so she's obviously recovered! I don't know what the future will bring...my first experience personally with hen-o-pause in action. In other elder falcons I've seen on cams, they just stopped laying eggs entirely..no issues like this. I should also point out that KathyQ is 15 this year and she just laid 4 eggs, so is SW in Cleveland. And we have Erin and WW here who are both 16 this year - so we'll see if they lay eggs successfully. Learning experience for all of us. in cage birds egg binding is caused by a lack of calcium, or vitamin D, which allows the body to use calcium, could be Dorthy's diet or vitamin deficiency

We are delighted to be able to confirm that the osprey which arrived yesterday at Loch of the Lowes is indeed our regular breeding male. Your ranger spent last night pouring over the video of his arrival yesterday around 2pm, and comparing plumage patterns to photos and video from the last two breeding seasons. All the plumage patterns match- a particularly telling one, for example, is the large brown dot under his right wing that is clearly visible in yesterdays pictures by Val Gall, and in these 2012 and 2013 images:

The USDA located and removed a 9th nest on Feb. 6th. So sad for this pair... DAMN them, how can they keep doing this, it obviously isn't accomplishing a thing. Your government at work - results aren't mandatory, but wasting taxpayer dollars is! because they are too stupid to admit they are wrong isn't there a saying about the sign of true insanity is to keep doing the same stupid thing over and over and expecting a different outcome Sure is! AND..... The American public keeps voting the same garbage in election cycle after election cycle, so we GET the Government that we deserve. sometimes I wonder if the whole election thing isn't rigged
