Peregrine falcons have lived underneath the road, and in some of the bridge's expansion joints, since 1989. The medium-sized hawks

Obviously not written by a bird person.   bang head

That's a shame they have to do that, but I guess safety-wise they must.  Sad

322  Anything Else / Totally OT / Help - bird ID please! on: 15-Jan-10, 12:16:59 PM
stupid Ok, Nora in IA here, but the birds are at a friends house in ABERDEEN, NORTH CAROLINA.  She was leaning towards some type of vireo, but I was thinking more like a yellow warbler or something?  Looking at my bird book they seemed to "round" for a vireo?  I told her I'd check with some of my bird buddies on it.  Any help is appreciated and thanx, Nora  wave

P.S. It looks like there might be a thin yellow bar at the bottom of the wing and too stripy on the front for goldfinches.  Also seems to have a bit of eye ring and darker area near the eye.

We're both so sorry Anne, Kevin, and John & family.  Although I never met him in person he DID treat me like a daughter and I'm really going to miss him.  It was such fun e-mailing back and forth on birding stuff or when we'd take a trip somewhere or just shared pictures of anything.  You hang in there "Sis".  Nora (& Joe)
