Just saw the 4th egg still tucked under (mom?) brooding, yay!  Supposedly they have had snow in the area dtoday, so they are sticking pretty tight to the nest today.  We're having lots of rainshowers north of there.  But tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 70's, in fact it should be in the 70's to maybe even low 80's the rest of the week, so we might catch a glimpse more of the kids later in the week as it starts to warm (and they start to grow, of course.)

Oh, is that just a piece of shell off to the right?

Did mama remove the other egg from the "nest", is that it there on the right?  She's definitely not brooding it any more from what I see on camera right now.  I wonder what she senses to make her do that so fast without giving it a day or so more to hatch?  If only we really could read their minds!

ps. maybe she's thinking "small box, three is enough!"  happy

I wonder if they'll name the little one Harlequin?  LOL.

Can't wait to see more pictures, I'm so excited for Quest and Kendal!

Yep, saw it when she got up.  Still 3 and 1 egg now at 3 pm Mountain time, mom just took a quick break.  The newest little one is fluffy now, isn't it! :-)  C'mon little egg, time to join your brothers and sisters!

Definitely a hatch, mom is eating more shell from right beneath her.  Donna, you have to get a picture when she lets us! :-)

Keep going Donna, it looks like the 4th egg is hatching right now, momma is turned that direction and I just saw her remove a bit of shell!  Good capture on the pictures!!

Woohoo, what great news!!!  Another grand-eyeas in the long legacy of Mariah and Kaver.  That is going to be one fat eyeas!  LOL.

Momma just fed the little ones, and there are three, two fluffballs and the new little one!  My computer wouldn't let me capture a picture while she was off the nest. :-(  But they are completely adorable, as you might suspect.

I am so sad that this clutch failed, I was so looking forward to watching another season of Rochester Falcons.  I too want to say I am impressed by how everyone is pulling behind Beauty and Archer (and Unity) and I hope that maybe, maybe they will re-clutch this year.  You never know.

Not to be disloyal to "our" peregrines, but if anyone wants to watch a live feed of newly hatching and growing eyeases, the Salt Lake City nest is just hatching, appears to have 2 and that leaves 2 more to go.  It is a live feed with sound.  Go to http://wildlife.utah.gov/peregrine/ and choose camera2 for the close up on the mama on the eggs and wee ones.  Perhaps seeing some healthy, growing chicks in another site will be fun for some of you and take the edge off this sadness.  I know it is helping me.
(ooh, mama just raised up and let me get a peek, the newest little one is NEW, not a fluffball yet!)

There is another broken shell in the scrape this morning, so we have at least a second hatch. :-)
Anyone who would like to watch, go to http://wildlife.utah.gov/peregrine/ and choose Camera2 to get the closeup.  It promises to be fun over the next 6 weeks.  It is a live feed with sound!

First hatch!  Caught a picture of the mom and half a shell and have been watching her eating the shell for the past 15 minutes.  She's sticking tight to the little one however and hasn't given me a glimpse of it.  Just as well, want the little wee one to stay warm!

Yay!!!

Still no hatch as of this morning and mom doesn't seem as unsettled as she was yesterday.  I'm glad, weather is supposed to be cold and stormy the next two days.  If they hold off until Monday the temps will be more supportive of eyeas survival.

... Reminds me of Beauty when she switches with Archer, she talks to the eggs.

Haha, more likely chewing him out for doing an inadequate job.  He had an egg exposed for a while there and when she came back again, she made sure to roll it and cover it up.

There haven't been any hatches at the SLC Peregrine nest yet this year, and for right now, I am hoping they hold off for a couple more days.  The forecast is for cold, stormy weather for the weekend, warming up the beginning of next week.

Checking in on the webcam, the male seems to be incubating the eggs right now and there isn't a bit of a sign of shell or white fluff, so we'll keep our eyes open over the weekend (anticipated hatch date was approximately the 24th to 26th.)
