An update on Hunter's older sister, Charlotte, born in 2015. She had been found injured after fledging last year, and taken to Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery. After spending time in rehab, an attempt was made to release her on the roof of the Woodmen building. Sadly, she was unable to take flight, and the attempt failed. She has been deemed non-releasable, and is now a permanent resident at Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery's new Raptor Wildlife Refuge. Rescued birds settling in at new $2 million digs at Fontenelle Forest
June 21 2016
Charlotte the falcon can’t see well.
Someone found her on the street one day, far below her home atop the Woodmen Tower. A neurological disorder makes it difficult for her to navigate and find food.
So Charlotte has joined several other birds of prey like her — rescues, unable to survive in the wild — at Fontenelle Forest’s new Raptor Woodland Refuge, which opens to the public July 16.
The $2 million expansion is the Bellevue forest’s biggest project in more than a decade, said Joe Vavak, spokesman for Fontenelle Forest.
The refuge has the capacity to house up to two dozen birds. Visitors will be able to tour the raptor refuge and see the birds living in “mews,” or treehouses. Several are housed high in the treetops and accessible to guests via a suspended walkway.http://www.omaha.com/living/rescued-birds-settling-in-at-new-million-digs-at-fontenelle/article_4580d32d-bc2b-5739-bb02-b194129f325b.htmlWhile it is not the life Charlotte should have had, at least she will be safe and well cared for. The fact that both Hunter and Charlotte have vision problems may be coincidence, but since they are both offspring of Mintaka and Charity, I wonder if there could be a possible genetic factor.

I think Hunter may be staying at Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery rather than being placed elsewhere. I came across this short note: Hunter will remain in our care and will likely become an education bird.I think he will be a wonderful education ambassador.

Update this afternoon on the banding of Rhea Mae and Tiago's little one:
A golden opportunity to band the little fledgling, named "Singleton". He's back on the nest ledge in his parents' care!
Mark Nash Reports:
July 9th - 2016
While we always hope that the young peregrines never come to the ground and need to be rescued, we have long since learned that this is not the case. With the larger percentage of the fledglings (at least here in southern Ontario) that have to deal with the tall hi-rises, its impossible for most of them to get back to their nest ledges on the first couple of tries.
As in this case with the little fledgling down at the Toronto Sheraton Hotel nest site. Only this time, it has worked out for everyone's benefit! The little fledgling now named “Singleton” was banded this morning courtesy of Mark Heaton from the OMNRF. Mark and I met this morning at 10 am at the TWC where Singleton spent the night.
Singleton was banded Y over 30 without a fuss although I must admit, little singleton is in fact quite little, weighing in just 410 grams at intake. You would think that with two attending adults and only one hatchling to care for that this little guy would be much heavier with all of the attention from two experienced parents.
in any case, despite his low weight, he is never the less, quite healthy and with a very feisty attitude! His X-rays and physical examination proved that he is uninjured. Singleton was both fed and rehydrated last night and again this morning and leaves us today recharged and at home with both parents in view and quite aware of his location.
I returned him back to the Toronto Sheraton nest ledge and his parents this afternoon without incident. Meeting with Linda, Bruce and Tracy, Singleton was released back onto the nest ledge at the perfect time, while both of his parents were present on the ledge.
Singleton was released on the nest ledge at the far end of the nest ledge (in behind the old web camera) so as not to disturb or scare the adults off the ledge. As soon as Singleton appeared in their view, the chatting began between his mom and him. Moments later, Singleton charges his mom screaming for food and attention (despite having a semi-full crop), and had Rhea fly off the ledge.
Tiago on the other hand, hunkered down at the opposite end of the nest ledge on the back end of the nest tray directly under the live web cam. I guess that he couldn’t deal with all of Singleton's screaming and Tiago eventually left the ledge himself leaving the fledgling on the nest alone.

I've tested it on IE, FF, Chrome, Safari, etc. It's working fine. Have you tried rebooting your computer?
Thank you for checking this out, Shaky. Yes, IE still has the share button, but no longer allows me to log in to the forum. I did try rebooting the computer, but it did not make a difference. The share button is still there on my other laptop, and I can log in there too. The new version of Firefox blocks using Flash and apparently also has major issues with Photobucket.

What version of firefox are you using? I'm in v 41.0.2 and the share button is still there for me.
Alternately if you click on the photo to open it (I usually do to check if it's the one I really want) there is another share button on the top.
No idea what might be up with IE. I only use it at work for one program that requires it. Everything else is in firefox.
Dumpsterkitty, the version I have of Firefox is 46.0.1. Thank you for the tip about the share button at the top. I do normally open the photos to check them, but I'm looking at the content of the photos at that stage and had not noticed that option. Thankfully, that option is still there, so I will try that. My other laptop does not have these problems. This one is new; I just set it up three days ago. I think this version of Firefox may have a lot of problems. It does not allow the latest version of Flash, which comes up as already having crashed. Flash is working fine in IE, which is why I am being forced to use IE for most sites for now. Normally I use it only for a few sites such as Buffalo which are incompatible with Firefox. Don't know why I can't log in to the forum in IE. Never had that problem before, and I haven't even blocked cookies on this new laptop. Many thanks for the help. Alison

As of a few days ago, Firefox no longer has a "share" button in the photo archives to obtain code to post a picture.
In IE, the "share" button is there, but I can no longer log in to the forum in IE. It gives me some kind of cookie error, which it never did before.
I can still log in to the forum in Firefox.
These problems make it very difficult to post on the forum.
Please help!
