I am no way an expert but the bottom pic is Pigott as she was there for a while before when George was out on the perch!!
Thank you so much for the info, Donna!

Not sure if it was one of the pair from this cam, but here's some really maddening news out of Derbyshire:

http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Peregrine-shot-dead-outside-headquarters/story-26106000-detail/story.html
Thank you for posting that, Patsy. I hadn't seen it before.

There is no end to the persecution of these beautiful birds, and in fact it seems to be getting worse.

It is sickening.

I can tell you that the bird who was shot was not one of the Derby pair.

Here is a pic I saved from the webcam on March 14. Both birds were at the nest at the same moment, one on each side of the nest.

Also, from a post on the Derby blog on March 14:

We are confident that these are the very same birds that originally colonised the tower back in 2004/2004.

Thank you for the updates, Donna. Love that photo of Pigott in the snow that you posted.

The male:

Donna, you're the expert on this nest; could this be Pigott?

The second Syracuse cam is up and running!

1385  Other Nature Related Information / Falcon Web Cams / Re: Syracuse Falcons on: 19-Mar-15, 02:33:32 PM
Someone needs to tell that DEC guy that Pigott was named in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where she was hatched and not by the Syracuse Falcon Group.  whistle
I had the same thought, MAK! Madame X and Surge had something to do with Pigott, too . . .

The cams have been active for a little while, and there is a new female at the Jersey City nest. She is banded black/green 41/AX.

Image from the site:

So it would seem that Athena, the great matriarch at this nest, has at least been displaced.  Sad

Wow, Donna! What great captures! I've been watching too, but have only seen an empty nest so far.

Wonderful to see Pigott and her mate again.

I was just on the UB site & I couldn't get the cam feed to work.  I tried in firefox(installed a plugin) and in internet explorer. Anyone have any luck here watching?

PatriciaRose, I have nothing but trouble with this site. I have everything installed, but it still doesn't work in Firefox. It will sometimes work in IE, but freezes after a few seconds.

I just tried it in IE again, and managed to save one pic a few minutes ago:

The Syracuse cam is down again, and the site shows this message:

Give it up! The falcon cam is down until at least Monday. WCS is working on a new camera. The new camera will include full streaming video.

Who was the 3rd Falcon, the female? I could only watch for a few seconds. Don't like to see these fights!! It didn't look too brutal in the beginning! My  heart is pounding way too much!!
I don't know, Donna. I have not yet been able to watch the whole video either -- worst Internet connection on the planet. I hate these territorial battles.

I have now watched the whole video. I see what you mean about the third bird, Donna. I am pretty sure that it is Hera. I think I can just see the silver band on her right leg. Her left leg is unbanded. I also caught a couple of glimpses of a long malar stripe, which is also consistent with this being Hera.
