Kris, for some reason your pic doesn't show up for me; I would have liked to see it.

I think this is Tiago:

This cam used to be shut down after the chicks fledged, but this year it is still active. Every so often, I find someone at the nest.

It looks like I'll  have to get hubby with the good camera and go down to armory parking lot (It's what is just in front ) and see what we can get for pictures!  Allison are you in New Hampshire?
Unfortunately, no. I am way out west in Alberta, Canada, but I have always really liked the Manchester nest. It would be great if you manage to get some pics! I would love to see pics of the nest and the birds from a different perspective.

Most days I find one of the adults at home:

Oh boy, minor?? I should have seen that but I just got a bit excited! Thanks Alison!!
I was pretty excited that she has been identified too! I hadn't seen any banding information for this year's chicks until yesterday. I have watched this nest for years, and frequently see at least one of the adults at the nest.

Sometimes I am lucky enough to find both at the nest:

Remember the falcon that was found by Steven Sachs the puddle jumper well its one that I had info on to start with. It is from the Manchester, NH nest 51/AD, sister is 50/AD brother is 17/AD. When it was found hanging out in New York I never thought to look in Manchester, NH
I am so glad that one of this year's Manchester juvies has been seen and identified. She is a beauty; I hope she continues to stay safe. Minor correction for the record: the band numbers of the juvies are 51/BD, 50/BD and 17/BD.

The banding photos:

1466  Other Nature Related Information / General Nature Discussion / Re: Was just a matter of time! Killing Snowy's at JFK airport on: 11-Dec-13, 02:48:19 PM
After many protests and petitions, the disgraceful practice of killing Snowy Owls at New York's airports has been stopped. I saw an item on the news here in Canada last night indicating that these beautiful birds will now be captured and relocated. Possible lawsuits are pending, and the issue of killing other birds at airports is also under discussion.

The organization Friends of Animals in New York, with which I am not familiar, is apparently the one involved in putting an end to the killing of Snowy Owls. Good for them. I hope they will be successful in taking this further to help prevent the killing of other birds at airports.

And here is a pic I saved today of IndyFroona with her mate at her own nest in Port Washington.

Here is IndyFroona at the University of Milwaukee nest this past winter. She really likes this nest, and she and Hoffman appear quite bonded. I was able to read her band several times; she is banded black/green *V/*Y. In her case that band is on her right leg, and the purple band is on her left leg.

With Hoffman:

More pics of SW; although her injured foot is still swollen, she does seem to be feeling better,
