What a beautiful little chick! Congratulations to Durand and Spark on their very first chick.

The Nottingham pair had some extremely challenging conditions during incubation:

Now hatching has begun; eggshell is visible.

Good news about the eggs! Stormin and Haven are such a beautiful pair.

Shift change; the eggs were uncovered for only a few seconds. This year, Durand has a very supportive mate in Spark.

It is very sad that Dorothy and E2 have lost one of their little chicks. Poor little baby. It is also sad that the other eggs have not hatched for this great pair of peregrines.

After two years of infertile eggs, I so much hope there will be a hatch for Durand. Haven't actually seen a pip yet:

In the pics I posted above, the chick appeared to be active and moving around, but I think something has gone far wrong here. I hope I'm wrong.

Lil Dad and Niecey are taking great care of the chicks:

I am so sorry about the loss of the littlest chick. Poor little one didn't have a chance.  Sad

The Wilmington nest also had five eggs; four hatched. The fourth chick was not being fed, and was removed from the nest to be cared for until he/she is stronger.

At the James River Bridge, the third chick was not fed, and was left to die. I would have liked to see that little one taken out of the nest, cared for and given a chance to survive. It has been done before successfully at this nest.

What kind of gravel is that? Not Pea, looks harsh but I guess they have no problem with it.
Definitely not pea gravel. I don't think this was something which was provided for the peregrines; I think these are just the rocks which had been used to fill the space in the ledges. Some pea gravel would be good, but considering this is Madame X's thirteenth year at the nest, and Surge's eighth, it seems to work for them.

Dorothy has not been allowing a look at the chicks for the past while, but we have an escapee:

Trying to go back under Mom's feathers, but hasn't managed it yet:

Was wondering myself.
Me too. This cam doesn't work for me.

I have seen one of the birds at the nest fairly frequently, usually on the perch. I wonder what the chances are of eggs this year.

These pics are from yesterday evening; this looks a little more promising.
