Hope has not returned to the nest, nor has she been seen since she fledged six days ago. I hope she will turn up safe somewhere in the very near future.

Didn't they have 8 eggs one year??  Shocked scared blue surprise

It's possible, Donna. I know they have had at least six eggs.

The only nest I can think of at the moment which had eight eggs was the Alliant Columbia Generating Station nest at Pardeeville, Wisconsin in 2008. Six chicks were banded.

In 2010 that nest had seven eggs, and again six chicks were banded.

Meantime, the Wilmington pair have their second egg:

The resident female at this site is Mystic, banded black/green S/22, who was born at the Hilliard Road Bridge nest in 2008. The resident male is Maurice (also known as Mo), who is unbanded. He has been at this site since he was only one year old.

Mystic was home this afternoon:

Only when she left did I realize that hidden behind her tail feathers was her first egg of the year! Congratulations to Mystic and Maurice!

Mom spent the night in the nest with her egg:

She left shortly after 6:00 a.m., and unfortunately the cam went down again shortly after that.

Doesn't look like much of a scrape.  wave

I see what you mean about the scrape, MAK. Before the season began, the nest was cleaned and the gravel replaced with lots of new gravel. The outside soil was tilled or replaced. When the birds started excavating, they kicked some of the gravel outside onto the soil, but I think they still have plenty in the nest.

Very early this morning, the second egg:

There is a pair of peregrines who nest on one of the buildings which comprise the Nuremberg Imperial Castle.

A nest box was installed for them on the Sinwell Tower, which was built in the second half of the thirteenth century. It is the building in the center of the photo below. "Sinwell" means "very round" in Middle High German.

Two years ago, the birds raised one chick. Last year, they raised two chicks.

Yesterday, preparing to lay the first egg:

Thank you for the update, Donna! I hope everything goes well for Pigott and George. Just wish that there was a cam so that we could see them.
