The most recent update:

Today's update 14th December, 2016 with huge thanks again to Cathy Cook for her report and for making her way through the rugged terrain in this hot steamy Sydney day.

"Another hot day down by the river. I spotted SE17 in same area Judy saw him yesterday. I was on a high vantage point, too far for a good pic, but something is better than nothing Wink He was sitting out in the open and I'm delighted to say, he was not being harassed by any other birds! He was intently watching other birds as they were flying around the salt marsh. Dad & Lady were at RR trying to stay cool."

Good news; sounds as if SE17 is doing well.  happy

An update from the site earlier this month:

As bittersweet as may be for some, we're happy to announce that it appears Mr. T is in a new relationship. This footage is from last evening, one of many sightings over the past few weeks of a potential new mate. Not only is this good news that Mr. T has held his territory, but it appears he is exercising influence in potential nest sites...right back where we all would want them to nest if it happens.

Any progress on finding the person who shot his mate? Not that I can find.  Sad

Posted on the site one hour ago:

We're 90% certain that there's a newly hatched chick (or two) in the nest. Will get confirmation this evening.

This morning, with both parents at the nest, hatching continues:

Concord is not known for peregrines, but this one was seen recently taking a look through a window at a high-rise office building. Can't tell if the bird is banded, unfortunately, but Concord is only about 50 miles from San Jose, so perhaps it is not outside the realm of possibility that this might be one of the San Jose or Bay Area birds from a previous year.

Just had a really good view of the eggs as Juliet took a momentary break:

Back on the eggs immediately:

Since the two eggs were seen on November 16, the hatch window should be close. Hoping for the very best for Lady and Pappa.

Hello, Mystique! What a beautiful, sweet face she has. Born in London, Ontario ten years ago, she and her mate raised one chick this year. May she rule her territory for many more years.  heart

This link has a very short video of Mystique:

There is a pip in the first egg. Pic from a few minutes ago:

The pip appeared late yesterday; possible hatch later today/this evening.

Thank you, Kris! Congratulations to Savannah and Derek on their first egg! I hope that everything will go well for them this year. They are such a great pair, and they deserve only good things to happen for them.

Yes that is OC and Lucky, they've been hanging together on the ledge alot the past few days and they've been actively defending their territory against some red tails that have dared to hunt in it.  In fact again today I saw them both attacking one of them and driving her down into a back yard in the residential area.

Then there is Mr and Mrs Crow and their brood right across the street - they've had some skirmishes since the Crows moved in last Spring.  I actually saw OC and Mrs Crow with talons locked spinning around in the air one day!  And a few weeks ago, they took the kids and raided one of Lucky's food stashes when he and OC were out of territory, likely down by the lake enjoying the nice weather we had back then.  One time I saw them actually team up and drive out a bunch of TV's...it's been interesting and sometimes terrifying to watch the interactions between them all.  Mrs Crow is massive, I mean massive..she's the same size as OC and she's not one bit afraid of her....I think she enjoys getting OC riled up  devil

Thanks, Carly! I had no idea that all these confrontations were going on with O'Connor and Lucky pitted against all those other birds! When I see them at the nest, they look so peaceable, and very comfortable with each other.

Yesterday I only saw one of them at the nest. Once again no bands visible.

O'Connor and Lucky relaxing at the nest. They stayed for quite some time.

No bands visible to confirm ID, but Carly will know . . .
735  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Offspring / Quest (2008) - Toronto/Don Mills on: 14-Dec-16, 06:33:28 PM
Has anyone seen Quest recently? I have not seen her (or the male) since early November.

Ann B has seen them both at the beginning of Dec, hanging out on a building close to the nest! All is well with them!!  heart

Thank you so much, Donna! Glad to know both are okay. I didn't know if the unbanded male would migrate or not.
