Below is a link to more information from the Wildlife Center of Virginia's website.  Apparently the injured falcon was unbanded.

 Sad

Thank you, Patsy. I had checked the Wildlife Center of Virginia site several times, but there was not yet any information available.

That poor little peregrine; sounds like an older injury. Who knows how long the bird was on the bridge.

There is an article today in the Lincoln Journal Star (which I cannot access without a subscription). The few words I could see stated that Papa (19/K) could be released as early as Monday.

One of the state Capitol's longtime resident falcons has recovered from a dislocated elbow and could return to his nest as soon as Monday.

Nothing about this on the Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery Site so far.

Peregrine Falcon rescued during rush hour euthanized

2:45 PM. EST September 29, 2016

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- VDOT crews in Norfolk assisted in the rescuing of a Peregrine Falcon that had been injured during rush hour Wednesday.

The falcon was sitting up against the jersey wall of the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel's South Island.

Tim Curtis, a Virginia Beach photographer, spotted the injured bird and alerted the tunnel crews.

The tunnel Safety Service Patroller, Adolph Bacon; Operations Program Manager, Tim Morrison; and Crew Leader Randy Varnell rescued the bird before wrapping it in a towel.

Curtis then took the injured animal to a raptor rehabilitator in South Norfolk.

The bird was taken to the Wildlife Center of Virginia in Waynesboro for rehabilitation, but was euthanized due to its injuries.

This is not the update I was hoping to find. Very sad outcome.  crying

VDOT crews rescue injured Peregrine falcon on the HRBT

Photo: VDOT

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — VDOT crews at the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel rescued an injured Peregrine falcon Wednesday afternoon.

VDOT says the falcon was sitting against a jersey wall on the HRBT’s south island during afternoon rush hour traffic. A photographer from Virginia Beach, Tim Curtis, spotted the injured bird and alerted tunnel crews.

Coincidentally, Curtis was returning from photographing the release of a bald eagle at Berkeley Plantation when he spotted the injured falcon.

Operations Program Manager Tim Morrison, Tunnel Safety Service Patroller Adolph Bacon and Crew Leader Randy Varnell rescued the bird and wrapped it in a towel before handing it off to Curtis, who took it to a raptor rehabilitator in South Norfolk.

The bird will be taken to the Wildlife Center of Virginia in Waynesboro for later release.

I am glad this little one was rescued from a very dangerous situation, and hope he/she will be okay. A great deal of credit goes to all those involved in the rescue. Haven't found any updates yet.

A couple of days ago an unknown peregrine was in the vicinity of the nest box while Alley was on top of the box. Was this the Channel 10 bird? Dinan? Someone else?

Too far away, and too unclear, to be able to tell.

Apparently there was also video:

Wednesday night, the 10/11 Falcon came to visit our Lincoln skyview camera. Our Executive Producer came to the conclusion that he was there for the post show party at Club 10/11 News. Take a look:

A peregrine showed up on the sky cam at Channel 10 news in Lincoln on September 22. The bird appears to be unbanded.

I don't know whether she (?) is looking for a home, or is just passing through. Not the best time for a new bird in town, with Papa still in care and Alley on her own in Lincoln.

Thank you for the link, Kris! I hope Harriet and M15 will have a very safe and successful year.

Do you know if there have been any sightings of E8 since his release?

Unfortunately, no sightings of E8 since his release..hoping he's doing well, wherever he is.

I hope so too. He is such a courageous young eagle.
