From The Raptor Center: Update on "Freedom" the Bald Eagle, August 8 2016 Photo of Freedom in his flight pen from The Raptor Center. "Freedom", the bald eagle admitted to TRC's clinic after hanging upside down by a leg for at least two days over the 4th of July weekend, had a check-up recently.
He is perching more consistently now and the soft tissue injury to his leg is healing nicely. He has a great appetite and after eating dinner, often takes a dip in his bath pan with great enthusiasm! We remain cautiously optimistic on “Freedom’s” progress.

From Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery, an update on Hunter as he settles in to his new home at the Teton Raptor Center in Wyoming: An update on Hunter (H57) the peregrine falcon that hatched at the Woodmen Tower this year.
Hunter is making himself at home in Wyoming. The good folks at the Teton Raptor Center even invited him to attend their staff meeting this week!
For those who are not familiar with his story, Hunter suffers from vision issues and is not able to be released back into the wild. He will be serving as an education bird for the Teton Raptor Center and helping to educate people about the importance of birds of prey. What a beautiful little juvie he is:

So glad this beautiful GHO was rescued, and that he is in a good place where he will be well cared for. I hope he will be able to make a full recovery from his ordeal.
An August 4 update from The Raptor Trust:
Great Horned Owl Update
We took x-rays of the owl which was found tangled in fishing line on Monday. The wing thankfully did not show any broken bones. There is pretty significant tissue damage where the fishhook was removed, and quite a bit of bruising around the area. No doubt the bird was struggling to free itself, and we do not know how long it was hanging there.
The bird is not holding his wing up properly - it is drooping quite a bit, which is not good. We can stabilize the wing and as the bruises and tissue heal, we will see how it goes. It's too early to tell what the final disposition will be because this healing will take time. All we can say right now is that we were encouraged that the bird did not suffer broken bones or any apparent loss of circulation from being wrapped up in the fishing line.
