Taking notes on flying!

I actually like this scruffy phase...the one that bothers me is the baby dinosaur phase between natal and second down...I always feel badly for them then.

Oh just like the barn owls...ugie stage.

At or about 3PM there was an aerial war - both Archer and Beauty went after a rather large (I believe turkey vulture) that was passing through at a high level).  The attack brought the bird down lower, and Archer took a "bite out of crime" right down level with the D&C building, sending a good chunk of bird to the street.  I think that's why the two are looking up - was a loud and rather rapid battle.

That was a get back for all those "poop" remarks earlier!   rofl

Looking at the big world out there.
Archer playing with egg-shells

Is he feeding them?

I think he thinks he has to bow at everything Smiley

I superimposed Mariah when she flew back from Montezuma onto the image from over the bay:

Is that a light? On the Live shot it's like a bunch of them...must be the cam maybe?

Egg spirit guides for the little ones...they'll hatch tomorrow!
6  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Pic of Beauty in the Nestbox in this weeks Rochester Business Journal on: 14-May-10, 08:16:23 PM
Not that the paper is going to the birds by any means, but a nice pic of Beauty in the nestbox detailing the upcoming event in this weeks RBJ.  The print version will be online in approximately a week.  They delay to sell papers.

How tragic.  There were 3 babies in the nest - no mention as to where they could be or if they survived.  Nature can be beautiful and cruel at the same time.

You can do that with an iphone as well.

That's the origin of sleeping with one eye open!

I personally think they should always be called the "Kodak Falcons".  It's where it all started, and it's where it should always be.  That's the ultimate tribute to Mariah and Kaver!

I will continue Carole.  That event occurred shortly after the 1st egg was laid, and Beauty was in the fray as well.

You've got lots of converts on the ground.  Every time someone asks me if I'm looking at the clouds, I tell them to look up, or check out Mercury's foot, and I get a new fan each and every time.  I now keep my field glasses in my desk, so they can take turns viewing, as well as have them check out the latest "live" pics on my iphone of the nest box.

Ain't technology grand?  If more people took the time to learn, they would be amazed as well!  Thanks Carole.

Myself and 4 others saw the battle Carole, which is why I posted in the Tweet column.  For what it's worth, there was another one on Friday afternoon over by the old factory across from Kodak Park.  I don't think it was Mariah, because this female appears to be only slightly larger than Archer when I saw them near the TSB.  I think there is a third in the area, and was still active as of Friday.

I would NEVER post in the Tweet zone unless I knew it was important.  I work right under the nest box, so I see alot, and know the difference on when to be concerned, and when not to be.

At no time did I try to imply the 3rd pefa was Mariah, nor would I.  She's just as near and dear to my heart as she is to everyone.  I think she has settled into new areas in the West Irondequoit area, and that covers great terrain all the way down to Lake Ontario.  I choose to believe she's happy, hunting, and has found a new mate or is still trying.

If we've learned one thing about her, it's her resilience and her courage and strength, and I would rather see the glass half full, rather than empty.

Thanks for following up on that post Carole.  I know the watchers do an incredible job.  I pass many of you on my daily route.

Beauty is back.  Archer is not yet.  I was at TSB when Archer took to war w/third falcon heading towards Hyatt and Beauty took off after him but she was back within 8-10 min.  Still haven't seen him yet.
