I did hear back from Nancy Reid; she was very excited to find out that Freedom is a grandfather!  I emailed back and asked for permission to post her full response...

I sent her the link to Rfalconcam.com and told her to check out the cameras and forum, so maybe we'll hear from her.

I dug up Nancy's email from the Yahoo board, and sent her an email...I'll let you know if I get a response.

Looking over the banding chart, I notice that Freedom was named by a first grade class.  Those children would be middle-schoolers now.  Is there any way to let their teacher (a Nancy Reid) or the school know that Freedom's son Archer is now back in Rochester?  Perhaps send the school a copy of Jim's terrific photo from today?

That would be cool!  Nancy was actually an active participant in the early days of the Kodak Forum, but I don't remember hearing anything from/about her for a number of years.

I agree that those pictures look tinted blue...probably weird lighting or, as you suggested, the person manipulated the photos.  Out of curiosity, I did a Google image search and came up with lots of images that are more straight black-and-white.

is the black-and-white warbler really streaked with gorgeous electric pale blue or did someone diddle with those photos? And if this irresistible birdie is really blue like that, so what gives with the name?

I've seen them plenty of times and have never noticed any blue tint at all...though they are strikingly beautiful; just black and white.  They're one of the more common warblers around Kentucky.

Not quite sure who this is in my grass.  In flight I thought young catbird, but looking at the pics the beak seems too wide at the base.

Looks like a female Brown-headed Cowbird to me.

I also thought Cowbird...I think of the females as more gray than brown when I've seen the couples (males and females hanging out together).

If my memory is right, Mariah got more aggressive every year than the year before.

That's my memory as well.  I recall one of the bird behavior experts on the board speculating that perhaps Mariah learned that her behavior had the desired effect, so it caused her to do even more of the same behavior the following year.  In other words, somebody took her babies, which she reacted to with aggressive behavior and warning cries.  The babies were returned, therefore, the aggression and warning must have intimated the evildoers.  So the next year...even more aggressive!
