It sure is a ramp Kat, just in case one of the juvies falls into the well, they can climb back up. With only 1 clutch of 2 so far at that site, none fell in.
That's amazing. The Rochester Ritz! I think the CPF are planning to "ramp things up" next year. And probably provide a covered nest box, which would be wonderful.

Yep...she was there the whole time. I still don't know what Quest and Kendal were freaking out about. Probably me walking around the building!! Look for places in your building where you can see the entire ledge in case the camera goes down or the operator zooms it in again. If you can't get access to those areas, find someone who can and arrange a method of contacting them when Harlie is out of view. Try to avoid walking under the ledge. Will do. I've already made contact with someone who can see the whole ledge *and* has a telescope trained on the scrape! Will avoid walking around the building again. We deemed this an emergency! Thanks so much for the advice you've all given me!! And...looking at the photos of the nest box you guys have set up: well, they're living it up at the Ritz, compared to our little family. Is that a ramp installed on the side?!

Well, I feel pretty silly now! The vantage point I have is angled, so the concrete section that sticks out from the building was blocking my view of Harlequin, who was nestled in the corner. Oh boy...is this what it's going to be like when she tries to fly?! I don't know if I have the nerves for this!!

Okay...after doing two walkabouts, looking out through the telescope on the top floor, and calling and e-mailing the CPF (they're not in the office yet), we heard from a guy in our building, who has a view from the far end, high up, that Harlequin is squished in behind the nest tray. I'm hoping this is true and am hoping to confirm this!!
Oh wow, that's exactly what MAK said on the phone. I can't see it on cam and she's not moving if she's there. YIKES! Is there room BEHIND the tray? Maybe she's stuck! Plus, Quest would have been there looking. Oh boy! Kat, I posted pics from this am, if you scroll down, you will see them. The tray design is the same as the Sheraton & I have posted pics of the eyases squeezing in between the tray & the wall This is good to hear. I just saw both Quest and Kendal fly over there. Kendal stood on the ledge for a moment and then both he and Quest flew back to their perch on top of our building. In any regard, I left messages with the CPF, so hopefully someone will come out and help if Harlequin is stuck back there. Oh...this is nerveracking!

OMG, I saw Quest feed her then she followed Quest to the edge and then she disappeared. I thought she walked to the other end of the ledge!!! She has to be there somewhere. Look in the bushes below or trees. I just said to MAK, I hope she didn't fall off. Oh please, find her.
Good to know you saw her this morning, Donna! I would imagine if she'd fallen off the ledge, we'd have seen her on the ground. This helps me to believe that she is, indeed, hiding behind the tray. Ugh.

Top Gun indeed! You haven't been a member here long enough to know about the pix Shaky used to create for us...and I'm sure you heard a few people mention that Kendal looks like Kaver, Quest's father. And so, I present to you (and all the other newbies here) the classic Shaky pic, Top Gun... Ha ha...that's brilliant!

Wow! Couldn't tell if it was Quest or Kendal (I think Quest, though), but I just witnessed a fantastic aerial battle between falcon and seagull. The seagull persisted for quite some time and there were many loops and dives: acrobatics galore! Like watching a scene from Top Gun (well...sort of!). Finally they flew off in opposite directions, but I thought that seagull was going to wind up on the ground. Amazing. Could it be that Harlequin is demanding "bigger dinner"?

Thanks so much everyone for the warm welcome! And that video by MAK is wonderful! Just so nobody freaks like I did when I turned the cam on this a.m., Harlequin is still there! I worried all the way in to work, but am happy to say she's flattened out like a pancake, snoozing, just outside the frame on the right! Hopefully someone adjusts the camera soon. I don't see Quest or Kendal yet this a.m., but they're likely off grabbing some snacks for Harlequin (whom I've affectionately been calling "Chubbalub").

Hi Kat and WELCOME!! Thank you so much for the report. You are so lucky to have our Beautiful Quest and Your handsome Kendal and of course, little Harlequin, right outside your window. Glad your here! Thanks for the welcome. I'm hooked! And I've been saying that very same thing to everyone I work with: we are so lucky to be so close to these beautiful creatures.
