Lots of soaring and circling this a.m.! And a visit to the nest ledge! Two falcons: hard to tell who's who, though. But one was smaller and looked like Kendal (though I haven't seen him in awhile), so I'm hoping our couple is back in the 'hood. Can't blame them for getting a bit of early spring fever: it's a gorgeous day!

I'm not 100% sure whether they were falcons, but at lunch yesterday, I had to run an errand and drove by the Don Valley ravine and saw FOUR birds circling over the treetops. They looked like falcons to me, as they all had the fanned out (slightly brown) tail feathers from underneath. Crazy to see four all at once, though!
Today, though, I'm pretty sure a few of us saw turkey vultures flying around the nest building. Ack. Don't like to see them!
I guess the spring-like weather we've been (were! ...pretty chilly today) having is bringing all sorts to action!

Well, just tuning in again and am not entirely surprised to hear that probably wasn't Kendal I was watching, but a juvie. Kendal has a very white breast and this one...well...it's hard to tell from where I sit! I suppose it makes sense the way it was playing about (and Quest was flying with it, too). Would it be too much to hope it's Harlequin we were looking at?! In any regard, I did see a pair flying about earlier this afternoon, but too far to tell who was who. And Quest did do a fly-by my window again, so I know she's still hanging about! Would be great if someone could ID the young one, though.
So now, of course, I wonder where Kendal's at!

Hi all and Happy New Year! Donna sent me a note and I thought I'd respond here. I've been off over the holidays, so I don't really have anything new to report. Have been at Harlequin for about an hour this morning, but don't see any action. Will try to let you know when I do (and when I can become unburied from the pile of work on my desk!).
Also, I'm not sure why our camera man hasn't moved the camera to the nest tray. I'll shoot him another email. Unfortunately I don't have much control over this.
Cheers!

Just saw Quest land on one of the upper ledges with a fresh kill. She took off again, but thought you guys would like to know. We're having some snow flurries today, so am assuming Q&K will be using the box a bit more.
Not sure why they haven't moved the camera. I wonder if our operator has gone on vacation. Hmm.
Just as I'm writing this, Quest is circling around her building. Now just landed on the opposite building, top ledge. Oh...she's definitely got breakfast!
