The Cottonwood trees in Rochester are in full seed-release mode right now. These trees release their seeds in little cotton-like puffs, and you would not believe how much they fill the air. Some days, you would swear it was snowing, and yards can be completely filled with white fluff.
So, there's a good chance that that smoke could be a seed fluff stuck to the camera lens.
How loud is the hatching process? I'm listen to the video stream right now, and every 10 seconds or so, I'll hear this "tap, tap, tap"..."tap, tap". Could the pipping be heard on the camera, even with Beauty covering the eggs?
